A cold dread snaked through me. That hiking trip was etched in my memory. Thea’s infectious laughter as she emerged, mud-splattered and triumphant, her hair a tangled mess. It was a memory we all shared, a cherished moment of friendship. And she… she didn’t remember it.
“How about that time we snuck into the abandoned cinema?” I tried, my voice trembling slightly. “You were the one who found that old projector, remember?”
