When it was 5 in the evening Arnold signaled his trusted Assistant Roasty. He had designed the robot in such a way that it couldn’t be controlled by the others and it responded to the commands given only by him. If someone else tried to control Roasty it would shut down instantly. “Roasty, You have to keep a watch on, screen number five. You should be able to see me at all times. In case you see me in danger deploy Squadron Spice ( A team of robots that have varying capabilities just like spices) to rescue me. Is that clear.”

“He is a murderer and a smuggler. He should be chained before he speaks.” Madame Du Bois struck her walking stick once. “Sit down, Eleanor.” Eleanor’s face twisted. “You have no right to command me in my own house.” Frank’s weak voice came from the side door. “It was never your house.” Everyone turned. Frank entered in a wheelchair, pushed by the doctor Taren trusted. His face was pale, but his eyes were clear. Taren moved toward him, but Frank lifted one hand. “Let me speak first,” Frank said.

He beckoned his assistant over with the goods. "Grandpa's gift for you." "What's inside?" "Open it and see." With the assistant's help, Buddy peeled back the layers slow, revealing a robot staring back. The thing clocked about four feet tall, towering over him. Titanium aerospace frame wrapped in medical-grade silicone, rigged with a skin-temp simulator that felt human-warm. "Whoa, awesome." Buddy's eyes went starry. Alexander chuckled. "Latest from AI Life—companion bot, not even out yet."

Spencer let out a soft growl but he didn’t say anything. Pushing away from the wall, I walked into the kitchen. A man with wavy dark hair stood beside the barstools where Spencer and I’d had breakfast this morning. Frankie was tall, his dark hair hung around his shoulders in soft looking waves. He was watching me with eyes that were dark pools with hints of blue in their depths. His skin was pale, like he spent too much time indoors and not enough time in the sunlight. A black shirt was stretched over his chest and his legs were encased in ripped blue jeans.

My real reason was Frankie, I wanted to see if he found his mate. Frankie is the Alpha's son, he's 6 foot 4 with broad shoulders and muscles for days. His brown, almost black hair hung to his shoulders and his eyes were so blue it was like staring into the sky on a sunny afternoon. Not that he'd ever notice me, my dark blonde hair and brown eyes were ordinary at best. I was short and barely a B cup, I did have a little junk in the trunk though. That didn’t stop me from praying to the Moon Goddess that Frankie wouldn’t find his mate tonight and maybe she'd save him for me.
