“That’s interesting, considering no one here seems to know who you are. So, you lied.” Theo shrugged. “That’s because I wasn’t born into it. But goal is to be. My father is a rogue.” I sucked in a breath. A rogue. It explained a lot. The way he moved, the bare feet, how he held a fork, the way he didn’t have the same scent as the rest of us. Rogues didn’t have the stability of a family unit—they were wanderers, rulebreakers, outcasts. Or, an organized pack, even if it’s forbidden.

William came to stand behind Vera, resting his hands on her shoulders as she began to tear up. “Wait, my parents were part of a pack? They weren’t rogues?” I was absolutely floored. I was always told my parents died because they were part of an illegal attack. “Rogues! Who told you that?” Vera said angrily, and due to past experiences with Krista and the pain that usually followed her angry outbursts, I shrunk back in my seat for a moment. Elliott rubbed soothing circles on my back and everyone gave me a few minutes to gather myself and speak.

Every wolf has the right to get at you because you are your fathers daughter and regardless of how much you hate him, his blood runs through your veins. Dethro lost his mate during the last attack and what did I lose ,I saw your fathers army slit my fathers throat when I was five , I barely escaped with my life . And as for my mother, her wolf couldn’t take her mate dead and pulled her down with her and she died. I became an orphan at 6 and since then I have had to struggle for literally everything that I need . I’m so lucky that The Alpha decided to take me in because I was nothing without my parents and so if you want to act self righteous, this isn’t the right place for it.

My mother was killed by rogues, and my father went out of his mind. I felt a flood of pity for him. I had thought I was the only one alone, I wasn't; he had gone through so much, far worse than I ever imagined. "I'm sorry" "Don't be; I don't want pity," he said, his eyes hard. "Who are rogues?" I asked "They are wolves who lost their mates or lost something so precious that they let their wolf take over completely, their human emotions lost as they became mindless beasts that only find joy in destroying."

A howl sounds some distance in the front, just at the same time a group of rogues leap out of the bushes. I spring into motion immediately, all my training kicking in. I knock the first one down just before he shifts into his wolf, wrapping the wire around his neck and pulling hard. Suddenly, the clearing is a battlefield. Weapons clash against weapon, rogues fall down. I roll to the side, avoiding the snapping of fangs as a wolf lands where I stood a second ago. From the corner of my eye, I see Ragnar watching it all from the sidelines, like a messenger of death himself.

he sighed, “Well, they were criminals…” I mumbled, “Rogues, darlings are not always criminals. My parents were rogue vampires for a while. A rogue is a person who is not in a pack or into society; it does not mean they committed a crime,” he sighed, and I squinted my eyebrows. “Are any of those guys the case?” I asked, and he took a deep breath. “No, two of them attacked a pack and killed several warriors, and the other one robbed a shop and killed the owner,” he said, and I took a deep breath.

I whispered my vow. Somehow. Someway. Someday. “Holy Fuck, Seth,” An older man’s voice said in a panicked tone. “What in the god's name happened to you?” yep, I knew that voice, it belonged to Uncle Gary, Alpha, to the Scarlet Blade Pack. Even though we aren’t related by blood, I was just a newly born abandoned pup when he found me out in the woods, he was in his wolf form hunting for food to feed his growing pack.

“I believe not. Many years ago, you were born into our pack but a few days after your birth, we encountered a rogue attack that took the life of your father and your mother was able to save you but still lost her life,” Roxie's mouth hit the floor. She had never heard so much rubbish in her entire life. What was a pack, rogue attack, and her parents? What the hell? “First of all, I don't know or care what freak show is going on here but believe me you have the wrong person. My parents are very much alive,” fuck, Roxie could feel the pound in her head returning in a hammering force. What the hell was with these people?! Was there a camera filming this or what?

This scar wasn't given by an enemy but my people. A scar gave by my father. A curse was given by my mother. WHAT KIND OF PARENTS ARE THEY? Parents are their children's whole world. Parents can die for their children but...my parents sacrificed their children for their pride. They only cared about one person and it was no one other than my older brother Theodore. The next Alpha. He might not be the same as them but he is no good either. I HATE THEM. The reason I'm a rogue now is all because of them and to be honest, I don't regret it a little bit.

For my twelfth birthday, I wanted to go out into the woods, so my parents decided to take me on a picnic. We were having fun until rogues attacked us. My parents shifted and fought them to protect me. In the scuffle, a wolf snuck up on my mom and I couldn’t warn her. The wolf ended up snapping her neck. My dad killed off the rest of the wolves after my mom died, but passed away shortly after from his injuries.
