A feral grey cat ran across the street, disappearing into the murky shadows. Clarissa could not hold back the nervous giggle. It startled her into stepping forward again. She smiled loosely when she heard the sound again.

The white cat gently jumped and landed on Alex’s shoulder with ease. The cat’s green eyes stared at Alex who just turned around. Luna condensed demonic Chi in her hand and immediately grabbed the cat. “Meow!” Swoosh! The cat moved very fast, and a front paw ruthlessly scratched Luna on the back of her hand. Instantly, blood was streaming and the back of her hand had three lines of scratch marks. They were so deep that her bones were revealed. “Ouch!” Luna yelled in pain. Alex immediately reached his hand out to try to calm Luna who was about to go berserk. “Take it easy. This little thing seems to mean no harm.”
