I'm just glad you saved me,' Hope smiles at me and then turns her head to look at Nathan. She releases me, runs over to Nathan, and flings herself into his arms. 'I thought you were dead! I saw the explosion!' she says to him. He rubs her back, soothing her. ‘It’s okay, Hope. Other than some burns on my back and arms, I made it out alive,' he says, letting go of Hope.

“Last chance, Morano. Give me the access codes and the offshore ledgers. Or we test how serious you are about dying pretty on this beach.” Vivienne’s breathing was ragged now. Blood flecked her lips with every exhale. I took a slow step forward, positioning myself between my family and the gunmen. “Hope,” I said, keeping my voice calm even though my heart was hammering. “Take your brother and sister back toward the north path. Now.” But Hope didn’t move. Instead, she looked straight at Vivienne and asked the question that changed everything: “If you really loved us… why are you willing to kill us to keep us?”
