It worked on a few of the younger Toten, but not for Anders. The Schatten were able to pick off about ten of the Toten as they backed away from the castle heading towards the river. They took one into custody and placed him in a circle of containment, where he could not shift into his shadow form. The Toten didn't have real Schatten forms; their shadows were weaker and more visible to the human eye. The fighting continued for hours, as each side gained some ground. Daan cast that one of the security guards went down; lost his head. Literally!

Shadow water touched four of the ninjas and all of them succumbed to darkness, leaving behind no trace at all. The shadow eater shot towards Hikari and me. Hikari slashed his Katana, shooting out bright blue and white light like the waves of the ocean. The shadow eater veered, changed its projectile and then shot at us again. Yuki roared, chasing after the shadow eater. We were so distracted in handling the one in front of us we lost track of the ones who were still trying to get out of the crater. “Zeve! Watch out!” Rage yelled, and it was then I saw that four of them had been released already.

she informs me. "I see, have t-the drivers taken any breaks during this t...time?" I ask. "You mean the coachman? They have not rested yet, it is imperative that we keep on track," she tells me. I nod, but before I can reply Alina speaks again. "Actually you are right, we are going to need a break to change forms," she says thoughtfully. I blink at her questioningly, tilting my head slightly. "Change forms?" I ask. "Yes, we shades are shape shifters, and it is dangerous for us to be in our natural forms outside of the Shadow Moore," she explains.

I just needed to find a way to make the shadows disappear for longer. The wolf charged at me again, and this time, instead of dodging, I stood my ground. I focused all my energy on creating one final illusion—a huge version of myself, towering over the wolf, radiating light. The wolf skidded to a halt, its eyes widening in confusion as it stared up at the towering figure. For a moment, the shadows around the wolf flickered and weakened, and I seized the opportunity. I sprinted forward, slashing my dagger through the wolf’s side, deeper this time. The beast howled in agony, collapsing to the ground as the shadows around it faded completely.

One of them came sprinting towards me, before he could reach me, I threw up a kick that snapped his neck backwards and he fell to the floor in a sickening but satisfying crunch. Two of them came next, shouts as they moved towards me. I extracted my claws and caught the first man by his neck. They dug into his throat and I pulled out forcefully, his insides spilling past my hands to the floor. Two others attacked just then, I was in the process of stopping them when I saw a shadow move towards me. I didn't turn away from the wolves I was fighting but as they moved closer I turned briefly to see who. The figure, Layla. It was her.

I guessed he still hadn’t learned his lesson then. Mrs. Flynn gave us time to work on our drawing again, which I appreciated because mine was still looking just a little bit better than a kindergarten student could do, and I was hoping Melanie or Tony would be able to help me. I didn’t quite understand the skill of shading, but if one of them could give me some pointers, I thought I might at least be able to make my drawing recognizable. “Basically, any place where there might be a shadow, you need some shading,” Melanie explained to me. “Like, where your hair lays on your forehead, or where your cloak meets your arms. That sort of thing.”

Shimpi snored lightly. Terese blew out the lamp after placing the charm book in one of the drawers in Shinja's dressing table. Then she headed to the window that was letting in azure moonbeams like that of a calm clear ocean whose waves swayed effortlessly, she began mumbling to herself in deep thought and concentration.

The general had a proud smile as if he won. Shama smirked as she wiped the blood from her face and tasted it. “Hmm…Blood do tastes nice…” Her eyes burned more fiercely as the red colour got deeper. Shama smirked at him. She closed her eyes and raised her hands. A red circle formed in a hand and a formation stated taking place. Within a second the whole Kingdome was shielded. No one from werewolf clan was able to enter her shield zone. The beasts tried breaking the shield but it was too strong.
