Flames raced outward in wild patterns, lighting up the stairs just as the first figure appeared at the top. A man in silver armor. The sigils of the Order glowed faintly across his breastplate, the same design that scarred Travian’s chest. His face was hidden beneath a hooded helm, but his voice carried the weight of divine authority as he raised his staff—its tip burning with the same light as the seal itself. “Contain them,” he ordered. Three others stepped forward behind him, weapons gleaming. Soren stumbled back, the glow beneath his skin flaring uncontrollably. “Travian—!”

Shouldn’t they have others do that to be ready to lead the fight, as they’d expect you to?”

“I have no idea what he is talking about.” I let out a breath, crossing my arms as I thought. “We have company,” Kaden said and I felt his energy slide over my body, masking my presence.
