Karen smiled at him from ear to ear, then she strode towards the man and wrapped her arms around him. I have been friends with Karen for as long as my brain could remember, but never in my life have I met someone named, Simon. And from the way I see him, he might come from a wealthy family. The glimmering tuxedo and red Lamborghini in front of him can prove it. "Thank goodness," says Simon as he smiled at me. "I thought you have forgotten my name already." Then he remove his arms from Karen and exchanged handshakes with me, "And you, I believe is the legendary Melvin Parker, right?" he added. "I'm a great fan of yours since you caused the entire werewolf world to panic."

It sobered me up in an instant. I mumbled an apology, trying to pull away from the man's trench coat, my eyes dropping to his wrist. The watch he wore looked oddly familiar. A rare edition, limited worldwide. Even Charles couldn't get his hands on one. "Sorry. I'm so sorry," I said again. I knew who he was. I didn't look up. Didn't need to. "Your hand is bleeding," he said, his voice low, textured with something like exhaustion. "It's nothing."

Stepping out of the shadows he turns around at looks right at me. "What are you doing here" I ask walking closer. He doesn't answer only rummages through a black duffle bag, pulling out a pair of light blue and black basketball shorts, he tosses them to me and I slip them on. "What are you doing here" I ask again letting my Alpha voice slip, forgetting that he is human and it won't work on him. He surprises me by answering "I have nowhere else to go"

He spat out vehemently, "Alvin, how could you even say something like this? I must've been blind to not see this side of you previously." Seeing that his plan wasn't working, Alvin still tried to patch things up. "Did Bianca say something to you? You interrogated her first, so... you think I'm the one lying? Simon, you're a sensible person. You've known me far longer than you've known her, so you should know that I'm a man of principle. If you consider carefully, I'm sure you'll figure out who's lying." The reason why Alvin was so distraught was because he wanted Simon to believe in him. As long as Simon was on his side, he could play the victim.

“He’s rich, a billionaire. He is even richer than Rafael. If you help him, he could pay you more than what Rafael gave you.” Still, the men didn’t care. Luna didn’t know if those two men didn’t care about their lives or just didn’t want money. Luna looked at Simon, who was slowly walking toward the two men. He gets a chair to hit both of them, but Simon is in the wrong place because he can see them from the shadows.

Silvercloud grinned, doing the Mister Burns finger-tapping thing. Everyone else took a look and nodded in understanding. “Um, hello. Human here who has no clue what is going on,” Alex raised his hand. “The mark Alpha now sports tells all he is the mate of the Kavanagh Alpha,” Silvercloud smirked, giving me a bow. “What? I’m so confused,” Alex sighed.

Simon smirk deepened until something clicked. His brows pulled together slightly. “Wait.” The air shifted. “You already broke up with her?” This time, there was no teasing in his tone. Just curiosity and the faintest edge of surprise. Calvin didn’t answer immediately. Silence settled between them, thick and waiting. Then— His phone lit up. A soft vibration cut through the room as a message flashed across the screen. [Alvin: Good day, sir. We will make preparations, awaiting your arrival.] Calvin’s eyes lowered, the faint glow of the screen reflecting in his darkened gaze. For a brief second, something shifted in his expression subtle, deliberate.

I hated that he dared touch my woman with those disgusting lips of his. "I'm Simon," he introduced himself with an innocent smile. "Delvin's elder brother." Aliana's expression changed slightly for a moment. Maybe she remembered the things I told her about Simon. About what he did to me when we were younger. But she quickly composed herself and nodded politely. "I'm Aliana," she replied. "Forgive me for being absent on your wedding day," he said softly. "It's unfortunate it ended before I even had the chance to congratulate you."

By the way his smile slightly falters, me doesn’t seem to like that very much. “I’m Cian. You’ve surely heard of me before. I’m famous in your little mortal world. For all the wrong reasons, though,” he says delightedly. I frown. As far as I know, I’ve never heard of him. I can keep the bite out of my words. “You can’t be too famous if I don’t know you.” “But you do. See, I’m a Sin, and I know you’ve heard of those,” he tells me. He clearly takes pride in bragging about his tier as an immortal.
