It was tormenting to think about the fact that she had actually done something that despising all for a man. "Caramel is here." I announced to my parents while they craned their heads at us. I had intentionally ignored making mention of the male figure. My mother rushed to her feet to stand in front of Caramel. She gripped her shoulder and began to shake her like there was no end to her troubles. "Why would you do that to your own sister? My mother wailed, "what got into you? How could you let yourself be blinded by lust? What happened to the love and bond I trained you to share with your sisters?" She cried, not faltering with her action.

You don’t make me smaller, You don’t dim to let me shine. You stand beside me, shoulders strong, And somehow we both rise. They see the kindness in your smile, The brilliance in your mind. They don’t see the ancient instinct, That walks a step behind. You laugh with me in daylight, You guard me in the night. Soft as falling feathers, Fierce when all's not right. I’ve never had someone stay, Without wanting something more. But you stayed because you chose me, That’s what sisters are for.

The sound of fabric tearing echoed through the cubicle, and soon, my clothes, which were torn into pieces, hung loosely on me, barely covering me. A wave of shame washed over me, but the terror for my unborn child overwhelmed me as my pregnant belly was exposed before their eyes. Tears of despair streamed down my face, and suddenly, the hand over my mouth released. I seized the moment to speak. "I'm Anthony's sister!" But my words were met with mocking laughter. "I came back to save your child!" I pleaded, my voice cracking with desperation.

As much as I wanted to stop crying, I couldn’t stop this endless wellspring of tears. “Cry my little one. It brings out all the venom inside. It will make you feel better. I love you, little sister, and whatever happens, I will always be here for you.” With her head on her feet, the tears flowed like a waterfall. I wished all the pain I was feeling could be eliminated, like I was eliminating the dirt in my pocket, but it was a little hard. Would I be able to heal my heart that now felt scattered into thousands of pieces, like pieces of a puzzle?

Sage's POV I sat there, the tears streaming down my face, the ache in my heart a sharp, physical pain. I had lost her. My best friend. My sister. My family. Her words, so cold and full of hatred, echoed in my mind. “You’re the one who keeps ruining my life, just because your life was ruined. Because you don’t have a real family who could give you the attention you crave.”

How could they take everyone I love away from me? I sat there, tears streaming down my face, holding onto my sister one last time. Standing up, I sought for a suitable spot and began digging with my bare hands to lay my sister to rest. I couldn't bury my father, or mother, or brother, but at least I could bury my sister. I gently placed her in the hole, holding onto her tightly as tears flowed uncontrollably. "May the moon goddess's light illuminate your path to the underworld, where shadows dance in eternal embrace." I whispered softly.

Hot tears soak through my blue leggings. "Please, God. Please don't take anyone else from me," I plead in between cries. "I can't take any more loss. I need my sister more than you do. Please don't take her from me." Some of the tears slip into my trembling mouth and the salty taste reminds me of how parched I am. Shuddering, I arch my head back and stare into the clear blue sky. I haven't really been eating or drinking and can't help but think that if Cassandra were here with me, how she would scold me.

"I will sing you a song. Sleep well, okay?" She hummed. Then, close her eyes. Seeing that, warmth flashed across my eyes, accompanied by a complicated emotion that I couldn't name, but I soon composed myself and opened my mouth to start singing. "When the stars form at night. They brighten the world beautifully. But do you know, sister? Even the star isn't as bright as you. Your smile is brighter than the brightest star. Your eyes hold beauty that transcends worlds. Oh, sister, sister, I love you..."

The pain in her words silenced the room for a moment, the tension so sharp it felt as though the air itself could shatter. Amber’s sobs grew louder, her shoulders trembling, her fragile frame collapsing in on itself like a wounded bird. To the crowd, she was the perfect image of a sister broken by cruel accusations. Mothers wept in sympathy, men frowned in disapproval at Livia, and whispers swelled louder. “Poor girl… how could her own sister do this to her?” “Luna must be desperate to save herself.” “Amber’s grief is real. You can see it.”

I ask. “I do,” He states. “Get the fuck out of this room!” I bark at him. I hate that my voice is already breaking, tears forming a pool in my eyes. I'm a loser. Even my sister's best friend doesn't want me.
