Her cheeks streaked from tears she had tried to hide. Her breath unsteady. Her eyes lifted to mine. Broken. Shattered. Searching desperately for something she was terrified no longer existed. Trust. Hope. Me. My heart tore open. I brushed my thumb across her cheek tenderly, wiping a tear I wished had never fallen. And in that moment, with her trembling beneath my touch, with her pain reflecting all the agony inside me, with her heart fighting its own desire, there was only one thing left in this world that I could do.

Nothing hurts me more than watching a tear fall from this beautiful girl’s eyes. Each one is like a knife plunged into my heart. My throat burns from the tears and the raw screams that escape me, and in that moment, I realize I have more tears inside me than words to express my pain. So, I cry. I cry until my eyes feel heavy and no more tears can flow. I’m not just crying for Richie; I’m crying for myself, for my dad, and for every single thing that has been weighing heavily on my heart. Each sob feels like a release, an acknowledgment of the struggles I’ve been facing, and I allow myself to feel every bit of it.

I immediately rushed to wipe it off but she shook her head. "Contrary to what everyone says, tears are not a sign of weakness. Instead it only means that you feel things deeply. I cant believe… With that, tears fell from my eyes but then this time… it isn’t bound by sadness. This tears is… the tears of happiness.

The tears kept falling uncontrollably and my heart tightened in my ribcage. It hurt so much.

Thinking about that day, though, fills my eyes with tears. “Heart wrenching,” I all but whisper the words. It feels like it’s been forced out of me. Out of the deepest parts of my soul. I try to force the sob that threatens to break free, but it’s useless. I tears out of me painfully, leaving me breathless. “How so?” Mia asks, handing me tissue paper. I take it and wipe the tears falling down my face. It does no good because they keep flowing like a damn river. Getting angry at them for how they keep falling, I ball the tissue in frustration before chucking it in the dustbin.
