When morning arrived, we were up early, eager to visit the librarian and gain more insight into the prophecy. The librarian’s shop was just as quaint as before, its exterior lined with ivy and its windows obscured by heavy drapes. We stepped inside, the familiar jingle of the bell announcing our arrival. “Hello?” Quinton called out. “We’re here to continue our research.” The elderly librarian emerged from the back room, her expression curious as she took in our presence. “Good morning. How can I assist you today?” “We’re seeking more information about the prophecy and the hidden power it speaks of,” I said. “We need more details to understand what we’re dealing with.”

Nathanial and I exchanged a look of determination and moved carefully around the perimeter, searching for a way in. Suddenly, I spotted a faint shimmer in the air near a corner of the building. It was barely visible, but there it was—a break in the barrier. With cautious steps, we approached and slipped through the invisible gap. Inside, the library was dimly lit, dust motes dancing in the beams of light filtering through cracks in the walls. The air was thick with the scent of old books and forgotten knowledge. Shelves stretched high, filled with ancient tomes, their leather bindings cracked and worn.

I gently knocked, waited until a voice came from the other side before I pushed opened the door. I walked in to meet a masculine man standing, his glasses hung low with a book in his hand. The entire room was decorated with wooden shelves and each was filled up with books, which make me conclude that this is a library. “What brought you here?” He asked without even turning to look at who it is. I cleared my throat, feeling the itchiness more. “I am Inez.” I introduced although he didn’t ask for it. “I know.” He curtly responded.

She turned to it and squinted. No one was there. Vero turned around to look at the librarian. She was still at her desk. Her gaze returned to the corner of the library that was not touched by the sunlight. The shadows of the bookshelves shaded a small patch of the nook, making it look like an endless dark corner. Her eyes did not move from that corner for several minutes. She waited for something to appear from there, whether it was a person or perhaps a small animal that had intruded into the library. But the movement that had been flashing in the corners of her eyes never appeared.

I get up and scan the area. I can see that my room has nearly two invisible doors. I moved up against the wall. I am correct; I used my hands to push it. I keep opening the door and smile even larger when I notice a large bookcase inside. Entering is nice decision ever. So, I enter the room, and all of a sudden the light turns on. This entire space serves as a library! Goodness gracious! There is even a desk and chair for studying there. What a wonderful space! I glance at the bookcases as my eyes begin to sparkle. Many books and novels are available here. I'm really sorry for my body. I had a sudden need to read one book. I looked at each one but was unable to decide.

After a brief scolding from my teacher, I was sent to assist the librarian. The library was a sanctuary of towering shelves and soft whispers, its grandeur unexpectedly breathtaking. I might not have a choice but live and survive with it. “Are you two done?” I asked them, it’s getting dark and we need to be out of the secret library before dawn. “I am, if he is,” I looked at Riven, he didn’t say a word, just shrugged his shoulders. “Okay lets do this,” I stood between them and held their hands. I closed my eyes, and inhaled deeply. My eyes opened slowly, I exhaled, and said the words. “Invisque.” The moment I said the word, “Invisque,” a soft wind blew around us. It circled like a quiet storm, brushing against our skin. Riven’s grip on my hand tightened, and Maria held her breath.

I marched out of the house and drove to the library. “Good day, Alpha,” the librarian greeted as I walked toward the front desk. She was an older lady, her wrinkles that adorned her forehead. She was the quintessence of a librarian with her knitted sweater and her glasses that had beaded loops that wrapped around her neck and tucked beneath her silver hair. “I’m searching for a book on the Order of the Fang,” I said. She paused, her eyes widening. “Alpha?” she called and I tilted my head. She seemed to have seen a ghost with the way she reacted and I didn’t know it was even possible for her to look as pale as she did now.

Massive rows of bookshelves stretched all the way up to the vaulted ceiling, looking like giant maze walls in the dark.
