“Now that we're talking about it, maybe that's what I'm in the mood for. A good mystery.” Ryan groaned but he led the way to that section and we spent the next twenty minutes arguing over book titles and summaries. “Can you boys keep it down.” The librarian, Mrs Doherty, said, her voice a stern whisper. “Aww, c’mon ma'am. There's practically no one here. We aren't disturbing anybody.” Ryan replied, not bothering to reduce the volume of his voice. “Doesn't matter. Rules are rules.” Her thin brows were set into an angry arch and she turned them towards me, “I would expect you to know that, Mr Young.”

Kyra found the huge library easily enough with the help of an Omega. The smell of old books and dust greeted her the moment she entered the library. It took Kyra ten minutes to walk from one end to the other. The labyrinth of books with thick worn out spines are neatly arranged on the wooden shelves. Rows and rows of books are placed, one row older than the other. Centuries old history of the Lycan's and the Werewolfs was proudly displayed in one section. Another section belongs to their medical knowledge. Moon goddess, Vampires, golden wolves and so on. You name it this library has it.

Of course, the librarians would enter and keep the place dust free, but that was all. "Morning, Kailee," I called out to the Head Librarian. "Certainly, Alpha," Kailee answered and unlocked the door, letting us in.

Liora was able to return the first set of books we took and also steal the actual biographies, and then we escaped back to the room. "We laughed over it… mostly about the moment Liora had frozen mid-step when the librarian turned around, grabbing my arm so hard I nearly dropped everything. I was so tired by the time we got back that I just slept off. It was evening when I woke up, and Liora was still knitting. She had made a fresh batch of pancakes. His female friend slid the reference board to the left, revealing the outline of an embedded door. "Yeah. Just walk along the tunnel. You'll come to a series of rock stairs. Head down, and you'll get what you want. We don't have enough space for all the books delivered to us. Up till now, you're perhaps the only one who requested this genre," she explained. Miracle nodded and entered the librarian zone. As she opened the embedded door and glanced behind her, she was stunned for a moment to find that the librarians weren't leading the way. She was going to do it alone.

Leo picks up the fallen book and hands it back without being asked. They drift toward the checkout the way water moves through a space — finding the easiest path, not discussing it. He hissed, staggering, but didn’t drop the makeshift weapon. Books exploded from the Librarian’s chest like shrapnel—fat tomes spinning end‑over‑end, paperbacks whistling like bricks, and loose pages turning to razor‑edged confetti. “Down!” Grant shouted. We hit the drift. A dictionary the size of a concrete block shrieked past my ear, slamming into the ground where my head had been, crushing a mound of pages into paste. The librarian reared back, chains writhing. “AUTHORS ARE RESOURCES,” it thundered. “NOT OPERATORS. NOT FREE.”
