Shadows of Solitude

Shadows of Solitude

But the more I pulled, the more complicated everything became. At midnight, my phone buzzed again. *“The mirror shows what’s hidden. Look closer.”* I glanced at my reflection in the windowpane. The woman staring back at me was pale and exhausted, but her eyes burned with a quiet determination. Slowly, I moved closer, finger trailing the cold glass. And then I saw it — a flicker, subtle but unmistakable. A shadow moving just behind my reflection, a shape that didn’t belong. My heart skipped. ---

“Aren't skinwalkers…?” “Evil like the videos you see on the Internet? No, those are miss named shape shifters and I think that's why the ones here at the school are so secretive. Anyway those are all the different shifter types that I know of here. A lot of them have smaller populations and are scattered all over.”

Alpha Rex.

Alpha Rex.

“That’s the one.” Another impact struck the door. The cracks spread again. The brief pause we’d gained was ending. The shadow moved closer. Much closer. Its face continued shifting between forms. Mine. Lyra’s. The brother’s. Strangers. Friends. Anyone. Everyone. Like it couldn’t decide what shape it wanted. Or maybe it wanted all of them. Rex stepped slightly in front of me. The shadow immediately stopped moving. Watching him. Studying him. Learning. The sight made my stomach twist.

and I never found out what they are called or what species it is. But don't think today is the perfect time to do this. Should I go and say sorry to him? I don't feel good at all, thinking that he is so angry with me now.. I smiled at the thought of how much this affects me. The backyard was dark and cold. The only light was the one coming from behind me from the open doors. I was just staring at my shadow that was forming in front of me. There is something very mesmerising about shadows. They are dark, have no features and are hollow but that's what makes them more scary. They are like hollow chests hiding a number of secrets.

he said sarcastically, rolling his eyes. “I'm going to kill you!” she growled, trying to claw at his face. “Not today, and I'd be careful on the threats, your best friend will be next if you decide to disobey me again,” he said pushing her away. “We're always watching, now that I know how to summon you, maybe I'll punish you, there for a while,” he said before disappearing. Abey looked down at her Grandfather. The Chief wandered close by. “This is a bad omen, you must leave. You are plagued by Shadows, scat, scat.” he hissed at her.

Gifted Shadows

It was quiet for a few minutes and he finally said, “Tilly and I have absolutely no secrets. People like you and me … we can’t be with just anyone. It’s either one night stands, fake short term relationships or nothing. You don’t just find a Tilly on every corner. A woman that will accept you, that if you are totally honest with her … won’t be afraid of you. I never had someone to … to help me. To direct me, and it damn near killed me. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I call it my dark shadow … it’s a part of me, but it’s a part of me I can mostly keep hidden, that I can control.

Loved this story. I wish their was a sequel. I wanted her with Fletch but Javi is just as amazing. Great story. Loved it talked about their hardships. Most importantly, for me, that she was a Black girl (biracial) trying to fit in and go through life.

In the Shadows of the Moon

In the Shadows of the Moon

(Izobel’s POV) ‘Amber, help!’ I screamed, crying in silence as I was breathing heavily. I had witnessed Connor and Amber when they shapeshifted the first time, and though it has brought excitement to the family, they transformed in the woods, not inside an old wardrobe closet with a handsome guy who had no idea he would die tonight. I remembered my siblings crying, screaming as their bones snapped and stretched until they turned into a wolf completely. My golden yellow eyes radiate, creating the eyes of a hunter, and I could see Ethan as my sight turned into an excellent night vision. I could see him on the other corner of the closet, his head leaning on the wood, eyes closed.

Shadows of the Past

Shadows of the Past

Golden arrows slowly emerged, timidly trying to chase away the shadows of the night. The great fire disc made its appearance. First, it emerged as a red line growing wider and wider until it rose victorious into the angelic blue sky, ready to stretch its arms over the whole earth. It tamed its color slightly, becoming comforting as it shyly soaked up the night frost with which you would think it was soothing its own color.

Master Odell’s Secret Ex-wife

Master Odell’s Secret Ex-wife

Then, she looked over again, intending to remember the shape of the trees in the area. There were not many trees, but each one had a different shape and size. Their leaves were all lush and of varying shades. Sylvia narrowed her eyes and observed carefully. From top to bottom, she looked at each layer of the treetops until she saw the bottom layer. Then, she spotted a tall and dark shadow leaning against the trunk of the furthest tree. The shadow was tall and straight. The more she looked at it, the more familiar it seemed. Sylvia was shocked, closed her eyes, and looked again.

I just feel like the story is drawing out too long. She’s trying to find proof to explain to her ex-husband, but they make it so stupid where she don’t even think that she could record what’s going on, it’s just all drying out like the same storyline playing over and over

well, how can Isabel coming from such a powerful family can go missing for straight six months and nobody tries to find her... her parents aren't worried about her, given how much they cares about her... how can author think of such a thing

Rejected And Claimed By Her Trio Mates

Rejected And Claimed By Her Trio Mates

The shadow doesn’t even notice. I slam a palm against the shadow over her head, snatching it away before it can hurt her. It’s like putty against my fingers—solid but fluid, colder than a piece of ice. My own shadows flare wildly at their brethren’s proximity, but I grit my teeth and ignore the sudden roiling movement of my marks. Squeezing tightly, I jerk the shadow away from the wall and slam it onto the stove, while I use my other hand to turn on the burner. There’s a soft click, and then a small ring of flame flares up, making the shadow screech. I don’t release it until it catches fire. I leave the shadow smoldering on the burner and leap away, searching for the next threat. A black sha
