Had my wolf not been strong, I might have gone feral. Unlike other werewolves, I shifted when I was ten years old. That is when all hell broke loose. My father, Xavier Wolfgang, the alpha of the Redmoon pack, was convinced that I am not his son. According to him, "No son of his would be an anomaly of nature!" By shifting six years earlier than my peers, I became a thorn in his backside.

Cassie raised her hand, and to everyone's shock, the white wolf nuzzled into her palm, a low, contented rumble coming from his massive chest. "This is my son, Daisy. My true son. I guess no kid wants to feel that they don’t fit in, even if it’s because they’re the future Alpha. In my case, all this red comes mostly from my mother, who had long, curly, bright red hair, while my father just had a bit of red showing when the sunlight hit him just right. Mom had a red wolf, and everyone respected her as a great Luna, and Dad’s wolf had dark black fur that, like his hair, shined with glittering red in the sun. I wonder whether my son will have a red wolf, just like me. And I’ll make sure that he knows how it makes him special, and that it’s okay to be a little different.

I was able to control my anger, more like Seraphina’s anger. “Hey Remi, who’s your new friend?” The red head asked as she hung off of MY mate. “This is Riley RedFang. My understanding is that membership in each costs money and it was cheaper for my father to change to simply sending warriors out then to continue waiting for warriors to come in. I am the youngest son of Alpha Charles Redmen, the alpha and sole leader of the Red Fang pack. I am the youngest of his six kids. I was born prematurely and, unlike my twin Chloe, struggled to breathe on my own. I guess that’s where everything started. My father wanted nothing to do with a weakling like me. So I became the son he didn’t want, the son he felt was undeserving of my very life.
