“It doesn’t matter. We’re doing this tonight, damn it.” She led me into a room that I’d only entered once before when we were searching the house for intruders. It had a cold and eerie feel about it. It wasn’t just because of the candles and gadgets that she’d set out, I remembered that the room had that eerie feeling when we checked it for intruders too. Having had the recent lessons and training from Megan, I recognized that the room contained a portal to another dimension. By the feel of the air, that dimension wasn’t a place that I’d want to visit. I guessed it was where she planned on sending the witch spirit.

Blood dripped onto the pages, and the book seemed to shudder, the pages flying open on their own. Her mom’s eyes locked onto the book, intense and focused. Alice whispered, her voice echoing in the stillness. “Seemed it is,” Pedro said, leading her to a small, cluttered room filled with candles and strange objects. The air felt thick with unease. Alice’s eyes fell on a small black book tucked away in a corner. She picked it up, her fingers trembling as she opened it. “Look at this,” she said, her voice barely a whisper. “Spells… ancient spells.” Pedro's eyes widened in fear. “She’s a disciple of the devil,” he said, trying to mask his terror. “We shouldn’t be here.”
