The Alpha's Revenge
Perhaps, the heaven was looking out for me finally.
As assumed, there was a book. Black cover, golden spine. It was the book.
I took it and examined the top.
It was a strange book with a foreign languaged title and root-like thingies coiling it from every side. I tried to open it, but they were preventing so.
Then it came. The sound of the front door closing.
A tremor ran through my heart, and it didn't run away. It held my hands and legs in a clutch.
With a shaky hand, I inserted the book inside my dress and pushed the vault door closed. With difficulty, I put the painting back in its place and ran to the door.
