Romans & histoires The Wolf In Sheep's Clothing Chapter 1

Timing ready. We’re supposed to wait for my signal. My wolf doesn’t wait. He launches forward. A howl shatters the quiet. Shock. Panic. The rogues scramble, bodies twisting into wolf form in desperate confusion. Too late. The battle begins. I slam into the first wolf like a falling boulder. Bones crack between my teeth. Hot blood floods my mouth. Metallic. Warm. Alive. But my wolf isn’t satisfied. He doesn’t pause. He doesn’t assess.

Its presence beneath my mattress was both a comfort and a burden, a secret pressing against my conscience. I reached down and pulled it out, my fingers running over its worn leather cover. My heart pounded with anticipation. What are you hiding? As I flipped it open, the first page was ordinary enough—faded ink in a language I didn’t recognize. But the moment my fingertips brushed against the words, a strange warmth spread through my skin. The ink began to glow faintly. A whisper curled through my mind, soft but urgent. "It’s time." My wolf. Before I could process what that meant, a sharp knock at the door made me jolt.

And why did my wolf sound like she had been waiting for this moment her entire life? A cold realization settled over me. Maybe I had never been an Omega. Maybe someone had made me believe I was. I closed my eyes. A strange whisper suddenly echoed inside my mind. Remember who you are. My eyes snapped open. The hallway was empty. But the voice had been real. And somehow... I knew it wasn't my wolf. End of Chapter 9

She says, pushing her chair back and grabbing a book from behind her. She slides it across the desk and hands it to me, “This is where you come from.” “I was hoping, with your wolf not emerging yet, the curse wouldn’t find you, but clearly, I was wrong. Read that. Learn about your wolf, and the curse that follows us, and then I’ll give you another.” She tells me and I nod looking down at the book. ‘The Golden Wolf’ I take the book back to my room and set it down on the nightstand, then go take a shower, needing to wash this day off.

Hi all It was recommended I start a second book for this, and I'm waiting for it to be approved or rejected. But I know you're all waiting anxiously, so I'm going to start publishing some chapters here. If the book does get approved, the first 5 chapters will be free to read as always, so if you'd rather wait for that, please do. Chapter 1 – Paced Cody There’s a wolf in the trees on my left, keeping pace with us, and he isn’t one I know.

The golden mark on my stomach suddenly burns. I cry out. Kael catches me. And somewhere beyond the walls, thousands of wolves begin to howl. The First Wolf whispers inside my mind. THEY HAVE COME FOR THE HEIR. I open my eyes. They are no longer grey. They are gold. And this time, I don't feel afraid. I feel ready.

My bones snapped, healed, and broke again — all in the same breath. And then I heard it. The sound of fabric ripping. My clothes — tearing apart as something else pushed through. Something… alive. I gasped when the agony began to fade, replaced by an odd lightness. My breathing steadied, my heart thundered with wild rhythm, and when I finally opened my eyes— I didn’t see hands. I saw paws. White paws. Paws… Wait— Does that mean…? A trembling laugh broke out of me. “I—I finally awakened my wolf.”

I sighed. I turned to the first story and started reading. I read story after story. Some were interesting, some were familiar, some were bizarre. Then, more than halfway through the book, I found it. The very first line read, "There once was a young girl. Her wolf had no name." It was titled, 'Child of Stars', kind of fitting since my Dad's wolf is Starfire. My wolf chimed in with her usual pessimism, 'It won't help.'

Ann Chapter three "Take off your clothes!" This time her voice sounded cold and deadly. My eyes bulged alongside my head which had snapped left. I wasn't putting on any inner dress and there is this man over there. I nipped to catch a quick glimpse, my eyes get honed with his, and my heart rang inaudible words. My inner wolf was uttering some words but I couldn't pick up. I feigned ignorance and deafness. Never would I have to strip in front of this cute man.

Laying everything out, I settle onto the blanket, arranging everything so I am comfortable. Meeting the pitch black eyes of the wolf, I invite him to join me, melting into the warmth and comfort he provides. As natural as breathing, my fingers find their way to his ears, twirling them gently while a gentle hum vibrates through him. “Are you ready to reveal your identity yet, Mr. Wolf?” I ask, looking him over. “No? Hmm, very well…another time, perhaps?” He sighs, laying his head in my lap while I snuggle tighter to his body. Pulling the notebook into my lap, I turn to the first page, admiring the handwritten scrawl in black ink covering the page.
