“I heard you’ve got three operations lined up today, huh, Doc?”
“Yeah, starting soon,” Anna replied lightly. “Figured I’d squeeze in a coffee while I still can.” She lifted her cup slightly, then added, “I’ll see you around, Dr. Noah,” clearly not intending to linger in small talk.
Noah nodded, a quiet smile tugging at his lips. His gaze lingered on her retreating figure, following her as she walked away, leaving behind a subtle, unspoken calm in the middle of the hospital’s busy morning.
