Standing on two feet with his incredible height and fur sprouting out of his skin. "You would do well to remember your place, Aiden," Xander growled, his voice so much deeper and more menacing. Aiden meets Xander's gaze steadily, his own eyes narrowed with anger. "I am not afraid of you, Alpha," he spits out, calling the title mockingly. He was still breathing heavily, now in his human form and curled on the ground. "You may be the Alpha, but I am not one of your subordinates. I am my own man, and I will not be cowed by threats."

"But I still don't understand what the talk has to do with your plan with the formula for more drugs." Queenie scoffed, turning her face back to Mishael. "True. I've deviated from my storyline." The man replied, flashing an apologetic smile. "My father spent all his life's savings on Transformers because he knew he'd get more out of the product. The Transformers' drugs boost the human body. Increases things like speed, retention ability and some special abilities one might acquire as a side effect."

Xander loosened his tie and unbuttoned a few buttons before placing his hand back on the steering wheel. “Because I am the devil. That's what you think of me, don't you?” He eyed me, and I couldn't match that intense gaze and dropped my gaze to my lap. How the fuck could he know everything that goes in my mind? A human, no matter how smart is, can't know the exact words playing in another’s mind. “I am the devil, Zara, a devil who can read his wife's mind.” He smirked, breaking me out of the cold sweat.

This was the robot Noah had been dreaming of—and Emily was the one who gave it to him. I pulled another box from a shopping bag. My own Transformer X-10. Identical model. The only difference was the color—Emily’s was metallic blue, mine was a warm maroon. I chose that color because Noah once said red looked like fire, “like a brave hero.” I examined both robots, now standing side by side. They looked like brothers. Rachel smiled, thinking of all the good times. "Are you psychotic or something? Because that memory did not just put a smile on your face," Xander said low key, freaking out that maybe he and Alice had created a monster from a massive traumatic time. In order for her to become sane, she traded some parts of her humanity and now she was a cold monster of their own direct craft. "Look Xander, just go to work." "Stalling or anything else you plan to do isn't really gonna work, my mind is made up and not even your cheap comeback can stop me."

“Leave us.” She hesitated just a fraction. He didn’t look at her when he repeated it. “Now.” She bowed and exited swiftly. The door closed behind her with a final, echoing click. We were alone…again. My chest felt tight, compressed. Xander stepped closer until his shadow fell over me completely. He crouched slightly, bringing himself level with my seated height, the letter still in his hand. “I’m going to read this,” he said calmly. “But not yet.”

"And now that you're finished with that trash... can we talk about this incredibly sweet scent of yours?" I found myself immobile. He knew. He knew I wasn't entirely human. "Who are you, really?" I whispered, my hands unconsciously gripping his shirt. “Xavier.” ***

he bowed and Xander glared at him urging him to speak. "King Alpha, your mate is indeed under the waters of this lake," he said looking back at his alpha. He saw his eyes that were now red and sent shivers down his spine. He stepped away as his alpha walked closer to the water. Xander got the clothes he held in his mouth, transformed back into a human and he put on his underwear and pants. He dove into the lake sleekly with a splash and saw a small cave on the floor. From the cave, there was light.

A shadow of a man appears before he comes to stand at the threshold of my cell and I look up to see him. Now that there is a little light, I can see that it is none other than Xavier. I cringe back at his appearance. He looks completely different from what he looked before. Gone is the normal-looking old man, instead stands a half man-half wolf as if he's stuck in his transition state. He looks at me with red eyes instead of his blue ones and I automatically recoil from the hatred shining clear in them.

Cameron smirked and the person beside him snorted and threw his face. "Well, I haven't seen you in a while, Xavier." He addressed the man who looked at him and smirked. "Well, I can't waste my time on a golden guardian who doesn't have a heart, can I, Rai?" So, his name was Rai. "We are not here for small talk. Get out of the way or we'll make you, or you can pass us the human." So, they wanted me? "If you want him, you have to get through me. I rather die than have you lay your filthy hands on him. You have done enough damage." Rai clenched his fist and gritted his teeth, seeming ready for a battle I didn't know how I got involved in.
