Coming down from the Alpha’s floor, I steeled myself for the evening ahead. As I descended the stairs, I spotted one of the twins waiting in the entryway. Jasper, I realized immediately. His green eyes caught the light, distinct from Jason’s icy blue. “Alpha Jasper,” I greeted with a nod. He raised an eyebrow. “You’re certain it’s me?” “You have your mother’s eyes. Jason’s are more like your father’s.” Jasper looked pleasantly surprised, studying me closely. “That’s an impressive observation. I’m surprised you remember our parents.”

He pressed a tight kiss above her head. “I didn’t want our first meeting to be like this,” Saraya said, gently pulling back. Jasper smiled faintly and kissed her forehead tenderly. “At least this way, I got to meet you,” he said sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck. “Otherwise, I might never have overcome my shyness.” Saraya giggled at his expression and, standing on her tiptoes, kissed his cheek tightly. “Can I kiss you? That furry ball and Dracula already have,” Jasper asked with a playful, puppy-like expression. Logan and Damon, watching from the corners of Raf’s mind, gave him dirty looks and muttered curses under their breaths.

When I was within the shadows of the trees, Selene ripped through the confines of my white t-shirt and zebra-printed cotton pants. Her strong senses quickly picked up Jasper’s scent in the wind and without hesitation she ripped through the forest in search of her mate, and before long we caught sight of Jasper’s large ginger wolf standing at the edge of the lake, looking into it with an aura of sadness and anger blanketing him. ‘Jasper?’ I called through the mind link. ‘I don’t want to talk about it.’ He asserted, not sparing me a glance. ‘Okay, do you fancy a swim, then?’ I nudged his shoulder.

“Zahra, I’d like you to meet my team. Aiden you already know, but this is Jasper, my Gamma.” I turn to shake hands with Jasper, a young man with short, straight black hair and almond-shaped eyes that mirror his mother’s. His dark skin gives him an almost regal air, and he has an aura that immediately puts me at ease. ‘He’s hot,’Zanthe notes in my mind. ‘Yes, thank you, Captain Obvious.’ I roll my eyes internally as I try to focus. There’s something soothing about Jasper, similar to Oscar’s calming presence. Gammas really are gifted in that way. “And this is my Delta, Marcus,” Tobias continues.

I rubbed the back of my neck and adjusted in my seat uncomfortably. Guilt was written all over my face. Firstly, Jasper used to date his sister and now he's moved on with me as his mate, fake mate actually. Secondly, Josh's congratulations didn't sound like he was genuinely happy for us. The bus dropped Leo first at his colony, the Ember Twilight pack. I and Josh were left on the seat. It wasn't a long drive to our own colony. I was surprised to find Jasper on our driveway while I stepped out of the bus. He was leaning on his car. Josh stepped out right after me before other kids in the neighbourhood scurried out of the bus in different directions making clamorous noises.

Jasper was silent as he led me up the stairs. I paused as something caught my eyes. "Graduation caps?" "Yes." "Hmm, you're not a vampire, are you?" Jasper let out a laugh. “Despite the name, no. My sister did that, she bought it at an auction. She is obsessed with the entire Twilight franchise and gets it from set." "Wow, some fan girl, huh?" "I mean come on, Jasper and Alice. I would be obsessed too, seeing that our names were in the books and movies, plus our father is a doctor. The coincidence."

The sooner this is sorted out, the better. “He doesn’t have nearly enough power at this point,” Jasper tells me, leaning against the door. I know Jasper is a powerful immortal. Not one with a specific ability. He’s a Phantom wolf, without a beating heart. It wouldn’t be easy to kill him would full power. “Come inside. We can talk about this if you wish.”

He said. Sometimes, I wonder if Jasper and Casper are truly twins. They act so differently, Casper gives off the strict and fearful Alpha while Jasper, even though he has a respectable role in the pack by being the Beta, gives off a soft and loving guy. He seems to be the same balance between them. "It's okay." I muttered. It was two days after that call with Cole and Jasper had been in my room every day to drag me out but I refused each time. He brings up my food here and we sometimes eat together.
