I am afraid… …In the distance, I hear a man. He is crying, roaring in pain. I move toward the sound, but he is locked behind a wall of solid stone. Placing my hands and face against the stone I cry with him, even though I do not know why he weeps. “Let me in,” I beg, pounding on the wall. “Why won’t you let me in?” He replies not with words, but with the mournful cry of heartbreak…

They started a war that we've already lost! When he doesn't say anything, I feel the last of my hope flicker into absolutely nothing. I can't stop the scream that escapes my lips. I scream until my voice gives out and my throat hurts. I run my hands through my hair, tugging on it and begging for this to be some horrible dream. The horrible wailing down the hall begins again and I sob. I cover my ears, but I can't block out the leopard cub's cries. A whimper escapes my lips. "Gods help us."

AQUA Once I heard the noise from the living room, I pushed Fawn into the kitchen and locked the door. The air was thick with tension, and our ragged breaths broke the eerie silence that enveloped the room. My heart raced as we waited, straining to hear the sounds from the other side of the door. But then, a sharp scream pierced through the air, followed by a series of female cries that sent a fresh wave of panic through me.

Stay alive. The hours bred madness. Whispers rose and fell. The flight attendant sobbed softly into her hands. The crewmen traded silent, hollow stares. Steeve shifted beside Jenna, his voice barely audible over the water. “I keep hearing it,” he muttered, eyes darting toward the horizon. “A cry. A faint woman cries. Do you hear it?” Jenna frowned, straining her ears. At first, nothing but the waves. Then—a thin, pitiful wail carried by the wind. A woman’s voice, high and fractured.

Naomi's P. O. V I shut my eyes so tight and turned away, unable to bear the sight of what was going on. Their screams tortured me, and made me remember things that I tried my best to lock away. My eyes stung with unshed tears, each passing second making it harder not to cry as the sound of multiple cord whips sliced through the air like knives, before the sound of them landing on bare skin came. Then the screams followed. The boy and the girl begged; they begged for them to stop amidst tears. I didn't have to open my eyes to see that.

It must be nighttime now. I shivered as I heard the sound again. This time it was louder. Like someone was crying, but later it wasn’t one. Like two or three voices joined. All the voices were crying. "What the fuck!" I muttered. The sound started getting louder and louder every minute. And all of a sudden the cries turned to a scream, which literally had my blood curdled. Shiver ran through my spine. "W-who i-is t-t-this?" I uttered. My heart was beating so fast it felt like my ribs were hurting.

It hits my nose and Cruz pushes through my eyes. When I hear the sounds of feet running close, I try to stand but fail at it and fall back down. Parker’s cries of pain turn to something else completely, something I’m not sure I can even identify. But the noises Hannah is making are intimate, her moans are not something I would ever want outside ears to hear.

The first sound heard sounded like cracking and popping noises which seemed to be caused by a burning widespread inferno. As sight continuously travelled below the earth, the rocky grounds were seen heating up, it went on until screeching sounds were heard. Screaming voices calling for help. Alas, the destination of sight was marked. Believer By Imagine Dragons slowly played into the scene as the act was ongoing.

Her desperate cries echoed through the room before she let out another screech. Completely lost in her own grief, the sounds of her screams shrouding any other noise, she didn’t notice the windows and mirror slowly starting to crack around her before shattering in an explosion of glass shards, nor did she feel them impaling her. Her cries too drowned out the rushed footsteps of Penny and Aggie as they tore through the house.

There’s only the gnawing emptiness, the cold that presses in from all sides, the relentless hunger that eats away at me—not just my body, but my very soul. Then, it comes—the sound. The faintest cry, distant at first, like the wind brushing against the stones. But then, it grows louder. High-pitched. Childlike. Desperate. A voice begging. “Please—don’t take my sister—please—she’s only seven—!” Another scream follows, the same desperation, the same helplessness. “No—don’t close the door! Mama said she'd come back! Mama—!” I clap my hands over my ears, trying to drown out the cries that are not my own, but they don’t stop.
