Voice In The Wind Book นิยาย & เรื่องราว

Ivy narrowed her eyes slightly and went back to the work that lay in front of her. Her life had already moved far ahead, much like a feather being carried in the wind.

The plane was up in the sky, among the clouds. After a short moment of turbulence, it flew steadily. I looked out at the clouds, feeling a wave of relief I had never felt before. Xander must have seen the contents on the thumb drive already, too. He was perhaps guessing how I found out about his secrets. His methods of climbing up the ladder and amassing wealth were so inconspicuous. Technically, someone like me, who had never once worked at the office, should not have been able to discover this.

"Enough. Give me some time alone." After a brief silence, Lucine turned her attention toward Selena once again. She stomped forward angrily and accused, "It was you, wasn't it, Selena? Why exactly is it that you've always disliked me? Do you have to force me into a corner with no way out before you're satisfied?" Selena chuckled. She hadn't initially wanted to bring out the voice recording, but she was regretting that choice now. She took the voice recorder, and Lucine's voice rang out clearly in the air.

The wind was howling, and the sparkler in her hand lit up her gentle profile. In the background, Archie's voice carried a playful tone. "Sienna, make a wish." Sienna smiled as she blew out the sparks. Her gaze almost melted the camera as she said, "My wish is for every year to be like today, with Archie by my side." A cold chill ran through me. With Archie by her side? What about me? Was I just a joke to her? My gaze drifted, stiff and robotic, back to the photo of the hands clasped inside the car.

Intrigued, I gently pulled the book from its resting spot and dusted off its faded cover. As I opened the book, a faint scent of old parchment mingled with the musty air, creating an atmosphere that spoke of forgotten wisdom. The pages were yellowed and brittle, telling tales of countless hands that had turned them before mine. I began to read. “The Winds of Change,” it began, “are the invisible forces that shape our destinies. They whisper in our ears when we least expect it, urging us to question, to explore, and to forge our paths. When tradition meets resistance, the Winds of Change stir, seeking brave souls who will challenge the existing state of affairs.”

It was a bad sight that had tears in my eyes as I looked at the wind and just saw the man had disappeared. He has waited all these decades for the freedom that I am finally giving him. I can't believe it. I was about to touch the wind when I felt a pull on my hand. My body was so weak that I almost fainted but I could hear someone's voice behind me. “Don't touch the wind, you will go with it, don't touch it!” The voice yelled but I could only hear it faintly and I retracted my hands and watched the wind leave totally and I slowly fell to the ground.

The breeze eddied in front of her face. It did not caress. It did not slap. It just hovered, cool and implacable. “We carry news,” the wind said. “Not choices. But we’ve watched you, storm-wolf. Since the first night you screamed at the sky. Since you walked out alone instead of folding in.” Snow swirled around her in small, tight spirals, not enough to blind, enough to wrap her in a moving veil. “We saw you call cloud and crack earth,” it went on. “We saw you *turn back.* We saw you *heal.*”

Lira (POV) The storm has a voice—not a scream or a howl, but a low, steady gnashing that grinds against the cabin walls like teeth on bone. Wind worms through every crack in the timber, hissing secrets I’m too tired to translate. Inside, the air is thick and sharp, soaked with the scent of pine sap, old ash, and sweat—the kind that comes from restraint, not exhaustion.

That the air itself held onto the voices of the past, refusing to let them fade. Then, one whisper rose above the rest, clear, sharp. “Turn back.” The wind howled to life again, the sand whipping around them like unseen hands trying to push them away. Elior braced himself, raising an arm against the sudden storm. Myrra and Rael dug their heels into the shifting ground, while Bram cursed and Sienna unsheathed her blade, as if ready to fight the wind itself. Then, The sand beneath Elior’s feet gave way.

If I had swallowed that drink, Todd would have just labeled me a buzzkill with a weak constitution. Now he stayed silent, and Lula kept her head down. The suffocating tension in the room was thick enough to choke on. Thankfully, my phone vibrated, giving me an excuse to step out. The second the door closed behind me, the room burst back to life. I heard them shouting, "Poker time! Lula, draw a card. Let's split into teams."
