He looked at the brat closely watching his drug-out eyes. “What do you want?” “I am looking for someone?” Richard tried kicking him again. The swift reaction he didn’t expect. Johnny grabbed his leg before flipping the brat onto his back. Two solid blows on his chest kept Richard Down. He tried yelling for his friends but they stood frozen in one spot. They were not looking at him but behind him where the pale man stood with arms crossed. They never saw him; he was just suddenly there. “Who are you looking for?” Johnny questions with another punch viciously in the stomach.

And now, here they were. “Shit.” “Johnny. Watch your mouth.” She glanced over her shoulder into the backseat. “What’s wrong?” The old Gameboy she’d bought for him at a thrift store in Clifton Heights warbled. Arcs of light from the tiny screen played across Johnny’s forehead, accentuating the angles of his nose and cheeks, flaring in the hollows under his eyes. “Only two lives left. Thing’s fuckin’ hard.” She faced forward and squinted at the rain-blurred road. “Don’t swear, honey. It’s crude.”

He was the real ant in front of Charlie! On the other hand, Cain and Marcus could only watch the scene in horror and fright! They had never thought, not even in their dreams, that Johnny would be defeated by Charlie with just a few punches and kicks! It wasn’t only him but also his four brawny men who were crouching on the floor, whimpering and crying! Charlie stepped heavily on Johnny’s chest, breaking a few ribs in the process. He glared at Johnny as the terrified man spit a few mouthfuls of blood and asked coldly, “Now tell me, who’s the real ant?!”

When his eyes meet mine, fear immediately consumes them, and his face falls. “Y-you—” “Yes, me. Your worst nightmare.” I grab the front of his stained white T-shirt and land another punch to his swollen cheekbone, smiling when I feel the bone crack under the force. “I believe you fucked with the wrong woman last night, and you’re going to learn what the consequences are for touching what’s mine.” Blood drips from his face as his eyes widen. “No, no, no—” With one last punch to the side of the head, Johnnie falls limp in my arms, out cold. I haul him over my shoulder and start the walk back to my car.

I could not follow Lena in mine because she would know right away. Johnny delayed a bit but we were able to catch up with Lena after a short time. She was not a fast driver but Johnny could fly if he wanted to. He was a terrible fast driver and had been in countless accidents. It was a miracle he had lived to twenty-four and still going, given the injuries he had sustained over the years. If his parents did not have enough money for surgery, he would have scars allover but he was neat as a pin.

She tried to wedge herself between them, but Max shoved past her, chest heaving like a wounded animal. His fists flew again. One hit Johnny’s temple. Another grazed his collarbone. The third—a brutal, wild swing—missed entirely and sent Max stumbling. Johnny took advantage. He grabbed Max by the lapels of his soaked shirt and slammed him against a parked SUV. The impact rattled the car and drew gasps from the small crowd that had begun to gather near the restaurant entrance. “You’re nothing but a rich little boy with a god complex,” Johnny growled. “You think because you bleed on people, they owe you stitches?”

He turned around again and walked towards the door and when he opened it ,he brought his head outside and looked out of the room before closing the door back . " What are you doing ? " Lisa questioned him for a second time , watching him act so weird . She stood up on her feet and followed behind him tailing his every movement. " Is everything alright? Or are you expecting someone? " She asked again while following behind him . He turned back at her making her almost bump him forcefully . " Shhhhhh " . Don't make a sound okay " Johnny whispered and walked back towards the window. This made Lisa quiet ,but she kept following him and soon he fully opened the door and walked outside.

Before I could move, Johnny fired again—one shot clean through the first guard’s chest. The second one raised his weapon and smirked at me. “Say goodbye,” he muttered. “SUSAN, GET DOWN!” Johnny yelled. I dropped to the floor just as the guard fired. The bullet missed me by inches. Johnny shot again. A single clean shot—straight to the head. The guard dropped instantly. I stayed frozen, heart racing, hands shaking against the cold floor. Johnny ran to me, pulled me up quickly but gently. “We need to go,” he said, breathless. “Now.”

They were misfits. Misfits healing misfits. Would you like to continue this tone into Chapter 6, where Johnny and Minnie’s past begins to subtly surface?

" I froze for a moment, suddenly remembering the last time I had snuck out. I usually did exactly what Hannah told me to do and never left the yard. But that day, there was a dog outside mauling a stray cat that Blake often fed. In my mind, if Blake was sad, then Hannah would be sad too. And if Hannah was sad, then I would be sad as well. So, to keep everyone from being sad, I snuck out and chased the dog away. I ran a bit too far, though. I had to ask a lot of people to find my way back home. So this was what Hannah had been thinking this whole time.
