Misread Mind: Dad Gave My Life Away
He was still mumbling, "Nady, I can hear you now. I can hear you loud and clear. You're telling me that you love me. I love you, too…"
Sadly, it was way too late, so much so that I couldn't hear those words anymore.
The affection was gone, and no amount of regret could get it back.
Sometimes, when the damage was done, it would last forever.
I turned around and drifted toward the infinite darkness.
I could hear Dad's heart-wrenching howls behind me.
But to me, it was the most futile sound in the entire world.
I thought, "Goodbye, Dad. May you live the rest of your long life in painful sobriety as you endure the endless isolation and torture."
