Genetically enhanced. He pushed the knife toward my throat. I looked into his masked face. I saw zero emotion. "Die," he whispered. Suddenly a black shadow fell over us. Kael had fought through the paralysis. He lunged. His jaws clamped around the Reaper’s head. There was a sickening crunch.

The ground suddenly groaned as a massive obsidian platform descended from the indigo cliffs. Standing at the center was a figure who looked like a dark mirror of my husband. He was taller than the other Reapers: his skin a translucent graphite black that pulsed with a sickly grey fire. This was Malakor: the Reaper King. He held a scythe of pure compressed void that hummed with a frequency so low it made my teeth ache.

A Reaper stepped through the portal opening. Tall, with ebony hair, he wore the long black cloak she expected to see, a scythe in his hand. The man quickly ran to the left of the portal, and then another Reaper appeared on his heels. Dressed identically, with the same weapon, he ran to the right. Then, another sprang forth, and another. Ru watched, her eyes wide as the Reapers continued to pour out of the portal, as if Hell had spilled an inkwell and the thick, black substance was covering the entire earth.

Rose yelled pointing at herself trying to make her presence known. "Boss, is there really a ghost in the car?" "You are a ghost! Your whole family is a ghost!" Rose stopped as she raised her hand to look at herself. It was then she realized that her palms are white and transparent, She continued as she looked down at what she was wearing only to see a huge white wedding gown that has been stained with blood. "It must be a dream?" She muttered as she closed her eyes and opened it again, but she still looked the same.

I touch my eyes to navigate another enchantment which resulted in me having the silver wolf's eyes. "Now I see you," I mumbled. It really is a terrifying—tall and skinny reaper without a face.

They slithered towards the Badbloods that lined on the entrance but they were sent staggering backwards as the guards pushed the torches to them. They hissed and we're scratching their sharp claws. The smoke that's coming out from their bodies mixed with the smoke of the torch. The guards advanced to them, thrusting the torch forward, sending the monsters wiggling backwards.
