He laughed at my expression. “You’ll learn how to do that more as we grow closer to the date. For now, I wanted to teach you some magic. Specifically, how to levitate.” He gestured for me to come closer, and I did with slow tentative steps.

Lavender light—a perfect match to the sky outside—sparkled around my fingertips. "What do I do with this?" I held up my hands and watched as the light began to condense. It drifted down to my feet as I began to levitate; forming little clouds beneath me. "No, no, no!" I forced myself back down and started waving wildly at the clouds; trying to disperse them as if they were simply smoke. "Go away; I don't know what you can do yet. Go away!"

Astrid’s POV: My saviour witch, Helena, stood in the center of a circle of candles, each flickering with a different colored flame. With her eyes closed, she chanted in an unfamiliar language, causing the air around her to shimmer and twist as if reality was bending under the immense power of her spell. Suddenly, a burst of energy erupted from the circle, sending a shockwave through the room. When she opened her eyes, a small object materialized in her hand, glowing with an otherworldly light. She smiled, knowing that her little ritual had been successful.

Lifting my arm I furrowed my brow at what looked like my aura shimmering golden and another sigil ignited on my bicep, I was baffled. “Maybe I'm going to blow up like a dying star,” I mumbled with concern but Lark came to my side with my daughter. “Mystic is telling me that you're becoming the Sacred Shewolf. All will bow to you, Mom!” She squealed ecstatically. Twirling my index finger in the air I said, “Goody.” But when the young elf prince reached out to touch my cheek my eyes widened at the lyrical language he spoke. “What did he say?” I asked Mister Skinner.

“You’re like a shadow warrior.” I shrugged, feeling a little shy. “It’s just one of the abilities. Watch this.” I focused on a small rock on the ground, lifting my hand slightly. The rock began to levitate, floating in the air before I set it back down gently. Lorenzo watched with rapt attention, clearly impressed. “Telekinesis,” I explained. “It took me a while to mater but now I can easily lift things.” Lorenzo’s eyes widened in amazement. Finally, I conjured a small flame in the palm of my hand, letting it dance in the air before extinguishing it.

They hovered a good three feet off the floor, bobbing gently in the air like they were resting on water. I opened my eyes and looked at the floating metal. Then I looked at the brothers. Julian’s jaw was literally on the floor. He looked like he’d seen a ghost, and coming from a guy who’d been alive for ten millennia, that was saying something. Caius was just staring, his eyes wide, his usual icy composure completely shattered. "Levitation," Julian breathed, his voice barely a sound. "Caius, in all our history... there has never been a record of a vampire levitating anything. Telekinesis isn't even in our bloodline."

“I already chose not to; you won’t tell me, so why bother anymore?” “I am a snake goddess,” I revealed to him momentarily, and I waited for his reaction. Zachariah took his time; he slowly nodded his head and said, “Okay.” He faltered on my expectations, but I would allow it. “I am not human, nor am I a witch,” I continued, allowing each word of mine to sink into him one at a time. “I can levitate and seduce...” I listed, pausing to look at him again since he mentioned he was charmed by me, hinting there might be a possibility. “Read minds, manipulate thoughts, or just get into people’s heads. I am sure you get it.”

I can show you the others though." He crossed his legs over and sat up straight, little by little starting to levitate in the air. A second later he used his hands to trace a circle in the air that turned into deep purple swirls. Before I could ask what he was doing he put his head in," over here." His voice sounded from behind me and I jumped with a squeak.

I tried to call up to the elder and ask for advice but his only words of wisdom are that I must listen to my body. That is absolutely useless because at the moment my body is telling that I am about to plunge to my death! I feel like an idiot just levitating, then something clicked. I levitate up and down but if I lean forward then up on my body would kind of be towards the ledge and yes it’s like flying. Praying that it works I lean a tip my whole body towards the herbs. Focusing on the levitation I start to move.
