A howl sounds some distance in the front, just at the same time a group of rogues leap out of the bushes. I spring into motion immediately, all my training kicking in. I knock the first one down just before he shifts into his wolf, wrapping the wire around his neck and pulling hard. Suddenly, the clearing is a battlefield. Weapons clash against weapon, rogues fall down. I roll to the side, avoiding the snapping of fangs as a wolf lands where I stood a second ago. From the corner of my eye, I see Ragnar watching it all from the sidelines, like a messenger of death himself.

Jax continues. "Maybe but we just can't leave it be now. At least this way it's not opened and when it does heal, it's all together." I motion for the nervous rogue to come closer. If he had the energy to argue, he could hold both sides together so my impromtu suture could be better.

I bowed my head in defeat. "Why must you be so cruel to me?" BANG! I felt thick liquid pour onto my lap and my heart stopped for a moment. In front of me was a tall muscular man with long dirty brown hair and light brown eyes. His face was graceful but… in his right hand was the rogue from earlier who was taunting me. The muscles in his face were scrunched up and his head was bleeding. "Finally," The man spoke and I felt my body tingle with goosebumps. "I find my kill." With that, he crushed the man's head with his fist and it exploded, leaving behind splatters of blood as he tossed the body aside.

He cracked his knuckles, a subtle but chilling sound that echoed in the confined space. “Three against one? I guest i’m that strong for you to come to me all at once.” he said, his voice low and steady, laced with a confidence that sent shivers down my spine. “But mind you, You’ll regret this,” The first rogue lunged, claws bared and teeth gnashing. Zero sidestepped effortlessly, grabbing the rogue by the wrist and twisting it with a sickening snap. The rogue howled in pain, but Zero didn’t stop. He yanked the rogue forward, slamming his knee into the attacker’s gut before tossing him into a pile of trash bags like he weighed nothing.

A hand reached down, grabbed the rogue by the shoulder, and hurled him twenty feet across the field like a rag doll. I blinked, my vision swimming. A line of men in tactical black gear surrounded the clearing. Standing in the center, framed by the sun, was a tall, imposing figure. "Remove his hands," Logan commanded. His voice was cold, vibrating with a lethal frequency. "Who are you?" the rogue whimpered, trying to crawl away. No one answered. One of the men stepped forward with a combat blade. A moment later, a scream of absolute agony ripped through the forest. Logan strode over to me. He dropped to his knees, untying my bound hands with shaking fingers. Damien's wolf flipped the rogue all over, tearing his sharp fangs into the rogue's neck. The rogue flipped Damien over with his hind legs, the rogue shifted right that moment, tearing into him. The rogue covered Damien's wolf, I looked around with trembling hands spotting a branch at the side, I took it stabbing the rogue with it. They don't have the strength that comes from the unity of being in a pack. Wolves are social creatures, and their wolves weaken significantly without that bond to an Alpha. Many rogues are on their own for years before they join other rogues, so they weaken a great deal. However, just because these rogues are weaker, they have the upper hand right now. With just four more to go, I can feel my body becoming sluggish. All my energy sources have been depleted in the last five weeks and I'm just running on pure adrenaline at this point.
