Once I reached home I had already prepared myself to open it but I had to savour the moment of having the first magic book in the world.

"Probably from the moment you found twenty typos in the first chapter of my debut book." ?? Well, that's another story entirely.

Oscar asked with a voice that hinted of reverence. “Dracula is the first to be made vampire from man,” Rowan explained. “He is not an original sent here from a different dimension so long ago.” “Do you know who that would be?” the underling asked with genuine curiosity. “To my knowledge, only one remains. His name is Darius,” Rowan informed him. Then, with a mixture of scoff and chuckle, he said, “One original vampire and one original lycan. Was this Goethe’s plan all along?”

It felt strange, how something so small could pull at me like that. We kept walking. Somewhere near the corner shelf, I stopped again — a thin book caught my eye. The First Year: A Guide for New Parents. I reached for it, running my thumb along the spine. Pages soft, edges new. I flipped through — pictures of fathers holding babies, smiling mothers, small notes on feeding and sleep routines. For the first time that day, something in my chest loosened. “You know,” the storekeeper said, glancing at the book, “most fathers come back for that one. They say it helps.”

I sighed. I turned to the first story and started reading. I read story after story. Some were interesting, some were familiar, some were bizarre. Then, more than halfway through the book, I found it. The very first line read, "There once was a young girl. Her wolf had no name." It was titled, 'Child of Stars', kind of fitting since my Dad's wolf is Starfire. My wolf chimed in with her usual pessimism, 'It won't help.'

Interesting Facts about the Lonely God that nobody asked for 1. Not many people know this but The Lonely God is an individual book in the trilogy Of Me and My Mate. The first book in the series is called My Mate is My Enemy, which is the story about Nefret’s grandparents. It was my first ever werewolf book on Wattpad. The second book in the series is called Chasing My Mate which is the story about Erika’s parents. You need not read the previous two books to read The Lonely God but if you are curious and have some penny to spare then you’ll find the books on Dreame. You’d have to pay to read though.
