The Lankov's Mistress

Prologue

"I'll use our chopper, our pilot is already at the rooftop to get me. I'll call you when I arrive okay?" He assured me. I closed my eyes as he kissed my forehead. I held the side of his dress shirt tightly. 

I don't want him to leave. I just want him here with me but I can't do that, his cousin needs him. Wyatt needs him there. 

"Come home safely will you?" I opened my eyes and lift my head to look at him. His lips tugged upwards and a lopsided smile escaped on his lips. 

"I will babe. Babalik ako, pangako 'yan..." Bulong niya. Tumango naman ako at niyakap ulit siya. Isinandal ko ang ulo ko sa malapad niyang dibdib. I sniff his intoxicating scent, becoming my favorite smell. 

"I'll miss you..." Snuggling closer to him if hugging him leaving no space between us isn't enough to feel his warmth against me. His chest vibrated as his laughter resonates all over the house. He then kissed my head. 

"I left the shirt I wore last night. It might last for a week, so I left bunch of shirts for you. I already wore all of them so my scent will remain and you wouldn't miss me that much..." He whispered. Napangiti ako sa sinabi niya. Alam niyang paborito kong amuyin ang mga nasout na niyang mga damit. I loved his scent. 

"Promise you'll come home to me Adam..." 

"I'll always come home to you babe." His kissed on my forehead lingered. He then cupped both of my cheeks and angled my face so he could kiss my lips better. It's a passionate kiss, it wasn't needy nor lustful, it's a slow kiss we both savor. A kiss I didn't know that would be our last. 

I pace back and forth in the living room while holding my phone, waiting for Adam to call me. It's been hours since they left, he should be calling me now or at least sent me a single text that they arrived safely. As the minutes passed, I became more anxious. 

I don't want to be a pessimistic right now but I can't help it. Hindi ugali ni Adam na pag-alalahanin ako ng ganito. He knew that I'll get worried so he wouldn't do this torturous waiting to me, especially now. 

I stopped on my tracks when Iris turned on the tv and the news flashed in the screen. She's here to accompany.

I almost lost my balance after I heard what the reporter says. My knees lost it's strength and I just found my self sprawled on the floor without taking my eyes off the television where I could still hear the news. 

"The search and rescue team is still searching for the body of Mr. Adam Lankov, who's still missing after the crash of his private chopper in the ocean this morning... There's no other casualty aside from his pilot who's found dead..."
