I sit up a little more in the bed, take a deep breath and whisper, “My Bloodline's Book of Power, My bloodline's book of spells. As soon as I lift my hand, the pages start to flicker, knowing what I need and not stopping until it reaches the spell incarnation I need.

A voice cackled in her head. Lily continued to take in the room. The room was quite large. Mahogany wood ran throughout, leading up to rich red walls. Bookcases were casually pressed against a few walls. It was practically a library. French doors led out to the balcony. In the center of the room was the bed she laid on. It was quite large, four pillars holding it together. Black satin sheets draped over the sides, a furry, wine colored blanket keeping her warm. There was another door, steam pouring out from the thin crack at the bottom. Lily assumed that was the bathroom.

Maddox just took the time to rush to the trunk and get his hunting rifle when he followed Gian across the driveway of a local family house. As I take the book over to the couch to settle in, the door swings open.

There are histories of the Lycan territories, texts on magic theory, and bestiaries describing creatures I didn't know existed. On the second floor, tucked in a corner behind several other books, I find something that makes me freeze. A small leather-bound volume with no title on the spine, but when I pull it out, the cover reads in silver ink: "The Celestial Wolves: Last of the Moon Goddess's Children."
