It was New Year’s Eve, so I hadn’t expected it to still be open.
As soon as I sat down, the owner hurried out with plate after plate of snacks, quickly filling the table.
Every dish was something I liked.
After setting everything down, the owner rushed off again, but not before glancing at me and saying, “A good man like this is hard to come by, young lady. Don’t take him for granted.”
I stared at him.
Just as I was about to ask, he sped away on his electric scooter.
Leo returned with two cups of tea in his hand.
