Once he arrived, he parked and climbed the steps to her apartment. Angel and Jaycee shared an apartment over the motorcycle garage the Vet's owned. He knocked on the door and Jaycee opened it. A black shape drifts around the corner of the alley, tires screeching on the wet pavement. The bike is massive. A beast of matte black steel. The rider doesn't slow down. He accelerates toward the Reapers blocking the exit. They scramble, diving off their bikes as the black Harley plows through them. Metal screeches against metal. Sparks shower the alley like fireworks. The rider skids to a halt ten feet from me. He plants a boot on the ground, stabilizing the bike. Drakon. He’s not wearing a helmet. His dark hair is plastered to his skull. His face is a mask of pure, concentrated violence.

His gaze locked onto my stomach with frightening intensity. “The legends were real.” Zane’s claws dug into the marble floor. “What are you talking about?” The Dark Leader’s smile widened. “The Apocalypse Child.” The name echoed through the chamber. “A wolf born with the power to destroy all darkness.” The barrier around me flared again, forcing the rebels farther back. The Dark Leader’s eyes gleamed with obsession instead of being mad.

Madam Amelia seemed to know this as she nodded her head at me. “Now what? You can’t break your vow. What will you do? You can’t have a Wolf Rider running around Astoria.” There it was. She knew what her daughter was. The half human part of it was the least of it. The fact that she was a Rider—a creature that could control a werewolf with a simple command. A creature that ruined my family's life. A creature, who must be destroyed before it gains power. There hasn't been a rider born in half a century, and even before, there was only one that ruled Astoria.

He was also dead. Lila smirked. Seems like someone killed these two. The murderer will be able to get away due to the apocalypse. That doesn't mean he won't be eaten by zombies though. Except he hits them the same way he did the woman. She was still thinking about all these when she felt a presence behind her. She swiftly turned around to see a hammer coming down at her head. With a tight grip on the hammer, she managed to press it out of shape, making her wonder if she can crush iron to dust in due time.

The collision echoed through the stadium like the detonation of a localized kinetic warhead.
