This is a story of transition from a typical maasai lifestyle to a modernized lifestyle through education.It portrays the role of a woman in a child's life in traditional maasai life.The book,shows a caption of the hard struggle to literacy and freedom of thought.The maasai background and set up represents the kind of lifestyle undergone by many other pastoralist communities in Kenya.The story captures daily encounters,escapades,sheer luck,besides brevity,mostly undergone by different community groups.Women are a representation of love,courage,support,and are a source of comfort for the family.

On New Year's Eve, I prepare a feast. The clock strikes twelve, but my husband, Vincent Porter, still isn't home. My daughter, Lorelei Porter, tugs at my sleeve and holds up my phone. "Look Mommy, Daddy is at this lady's house!" Vincent has posted an update on Twitter. He is with Christine Snow, his childhood sweetheart. I went abroad for a year to further my studies and kept in touch with my girlfriend through video calls every day. She could not take the betrayal of her fiancee and sister to her, she couldn't even show her face to her family after spending a nightstand with a man she didn't know. She continues crying till various cars surround her, the men try to convince her to go with them but she refuses to threaten to kill herself there. * The man calls Arnold and reports to him the situation and he tells them to hold on, after five minutes he arrives there with his assistant ready to drag the pathetic bride to his house. Alice is stunned by seeing and mistaking losses her step falling into the river.

I had been married to Natasha Bates for ten years, and not once did she ever join me for our family's Independence Day cookout. This year, on the night before the celebration, I finally gathered the courage to ask if she wanted to come. She scoffed and said, "What are you, stuck in the past? Are you trying to humiliate Nora in public? "It was a typhoon. I helped her family move some fish. What’s the big deal? You’re such a pampered little princess who has no idea how hard life really is. Delete that comment now. I’ll take you to the coast another day." Disgust churned in me. I replied, "Let a man who’s already rolled in the mud take me to the ocean? Forget it." Yes. Michael was now tainted, and I didn’t want him anymore.
