I contemplated whether to check out the book, but I saw another person just leaving without even glazing at the librarian who was busy doing his own work. ~~~~~ Back in my room, I sat down on the settee and opened the book. The pages had taken a brownish hue, conveying its age. Surprisingly it was more like a diary. I frowned. Whose diary was it? The name had become smudged. Even then I carefully flipped the page. My eyes halted on the first line of the first entry. ‘Mother is scary. She doesn’t love me. She doesn’t love father. She wants to kill us….’

“Eh. Don’t know what goes on in her brain.” The moon princess lips quivered at that. That scared her a bit. An evening with every single one in Greece. *** I closed the book, almost relieved that the chapter was over. It did feel kind of weird to read my own story, my previous life story. Shaking my head, I leaned back and pushed the book in my lap. Judging from the pages in the book, I was in for a ride. ***

Setting the book on the bed I finished putting my clothes on. The sound of the shower told me I would not see Ava for probably a half hour. Besides I had not planned on staying much longer since I had no idea when her parents would return. I went to leave but the diary caught my eye once more. A quick peek would not hurt. Lifting the book, it opened near the middle where she had left a pen in as a bookmark. I had not been prepared for what she had written. "Dear diary, why am I so horny all the time? This morning, I was rubbing my pussy before I was even awake. I cam twice and I was dreaming about getting rapped! Is there something wrong with me for that?"

She never noticed, because all she ever cared about was school and California. After Sareena left, Damian and his father found the videos and traced them back to my dad. Exhaustion is taking over, and I am having trouble keeping my eyes open. Right before my eyes close, the last thing I see is Braxius's blue-green eyes filled with love and sorrow. Except, I somehow know everything will be all right with him. That only thought is making my leaving easier, and I stop fighting the darkness. I am floating away towards total oblivion. I am having a few brief flashbacks of my short life of twenty-two years and growing up in New Jersey with Meena, my younger sister of nine months. I accepted my entry-level position at a prestigious marketing firm and graduating from college with honors as a business major with a minor in history.

But the secret side pocket was completely empty. “Looking for this?” Declan asked cheerfully. He reached into his back pocket and slowly pulled out my little faux-leather diary. He waved it in the air like a victorious flag. “I’ve gotta say, Liora, you are a whole lot more interesting than you look. Who knew the quiet little library mouse was harboring such intense, aggressive desires for the campus golden boy?” All the blood drained completely from my face. My lungs stopped working. Declan opened the book to a dog-eared page and cleared his throat. “‘I want him to absolutely ruin me,’” he read aloud, his voice dripping with dark sarcasm. “‘I want his hands bruising my thighs…’”

Chapter 1 Daniel’s POV I stepped into my best friend’s house, the door clicking shut behind me with a soft echo that made the empty place feel bigger than it was. Mike had said his dad would be around but the whole house felt quiet at first, just the low hum of the AC and my backpack sliding off my shoulder onto the floor. Weekend crash at his place sounded perfect, no parents breathing down my neck, just some games and junk food. I kicked off my shoes and started down the hallway when I heard it.

She doesn't even get a chance to open her bag or write in her diary before the lecturer screams at them to open their books. So, she takes her favourite therapy method and disguises it inside her book. She randomly starts doodling. There are so many things to write. Dear Diary… The way he looked at her last night. He genuinely stared. And the things he said. She starts scratching his name again. Over and over, filling the margin until the ink runs thick.
