I woke with a gasp, drenched in cold sweat, the sheets twisted around me like chains. My hands were trembling. “Phew ,it’s just a dream” I muttered to myself, sitting up slowly.

“Don't do this to me. Wake up!” My voice blasts through my ears. Every breath pulls me into pain like quicksand. I scream, and scream, and scream, until — Ice water hits my face like shattered glass. I choke before I'm fully awake. It floods my nose, my mouth. I suck in air and swallow freezing water instead. I thrash, and something tears at my wrists. I cough hard, spit, gasp. The cold doesn't sting, it invades. A reminder that it's just a dream. That Harry is gone. That I'm broken.

I started brushing my teeth and looking into what mistakes I had made until a handsome man approached me in such a dream, even though he had to die in my hands. My head weighing heavy, and my eyelids almost fell. The pain made me want to sleep again. I’m lucky that I’m used to all of this and don’t throw up like I used to.

I throw my phone on the bed as stared at my reflection on the small mirror. I rapidly picked the text book on the chair and threw it on the mirror. A huge crack appeared from the top corner to the right bottom corner as tears slid down my eyes. How had things got this bad? I Slowly headed to the cracked mirror while using my bed for balance. I stared at the pictures that had scattered on the floor. Some were still on the mirror as I started tearing them violently and tossing them inside my mouth then chewed then. More tears ran down my cheeks.

CHAPTER 7 Though sleep was challenging, Jeff managed to doze, but the dreams that followed seared his subconscious like a fire poker. In one, the dead fly in his vomit came to life and buzzed from the wastebasket, landing on his lips. He tried to blow it away, to spit it out when it crept down his throat, but the insect forced itself into his stomach where he could feel its vibrating hums as it laid batches of eggs. His gut grew heavy and bloated, swelling to twice its normal size as hundreds of maggots burst forth, eating their way out from the inside.
