I hear rustling branches above me before a few apples fall down and Rachel laughs in triumph. "I got it!" She says happily and I put her down so she can show me it. I pick up the apples she dropped from the tree and put them all in the basket before we start walking down the trees again to find more. She links her arm with me as she points to the apples she wants and I pick them off the trees. She's the same height as me so she can reach them too but she seems to be enjoying watching me pick them. I notice her eyes drift down to my stomach whenever I reach up and my jumper lifts to show my abs. "I can't wait for us to fuck again daddy," she says mischievously and I grin to myself.

Ellie was lying on the kitchen island, her legs bent at her knees and raised in the air. All the items on the counter had been cleared, I'm guessing so that Ellie didn't accidentally injure herself. She had a crayon in her hand and a tiny coloring book in front of her but her attention was solely on Keera. It took me a while to realize she was listening to something Keera was saying. Listening and grinning widely like Keera was saying the funniest story. I wasn't sure what threw me off the most. The fact that Keera was actually spending time with her or the fact that Ellie was smiling wider than I'd ever seen her smile with a complete stranger.

I had no idea how much longer we could blow off Katrina before she was going to demand answers. We had stayed at the packhouse during those couple of days, and Ellie just loved meeting all the different creatures. She even befriended a demon named Susie, who was about her age. It was pretty odd to see but I wanted her to know and understand all the different creatures we had to share this world with. She’d been sheltered for far too long.

Emily felt some relief and held the cat tightly to her chest, crying and speaking incoherently: "Ellie! What should I do? Tiny, Ellie was incredibly fast, and before long, she had brought Emily to a peaceful place on the street.

Ellie took a grape from the fruit bowl on the coffee table. “Nope,” she said as she put the grape in her mouth. “Why?” he asked feeling upset. “That’s the mystery, Sir,” she said. “Oh,” he responded. “You may leave,” he said. But Ellie left as she took the bowl along with him. He wanted to ask her to put the bowl down, but if he did that she would only eat his brain. He was old, he needs a brain to leave. So, he should care more about his brain than a bowl of fruits.
