TORN BETWEEN THE THREE
he said.
“I mean it is not like anybody will step forward to save a nobody like you,” he added with a mean chuckle. The tears stung at the back of my eyes. It felt silly, my need to cry because he had called me a nobody. I should not care, I already knew that fact already, I already know that if I ever needed help nobody will stand up for me, I already know about my status as an abandoned child, as a nobody so why does his words hurt so much? Why do I care what he thinks?
I tried my best to keep the tries from falling, but I knew I had lost that battle when my lips began to quiver.
