the bodyguard's secret

the bodyguard's secret

The rain had eased to a cold, persistent drizzle by the time they reached **Grid Echo-Seven**. It wasn't a grid reference so much as a scar on the landscape: a collapsed mining adit half-hidden by scree and skeletal pines, deep in the lee of the mountains overshadowing Dominic’s Aerie. The air hung heavy with the scent of wet rock, pine sap, and decay. It felt less like a rendezvous and more like a tomb.

HIS REPUDIATED LUNA: Rejected Once, Wanted Again

HIS REPUDIATED LUNA: Rejected Once, Wanted Again

I knew it was going to be a bad fall but it was going to be worth it. I climbed over and sat on the pane closing my eyes, muttering a short prayer to moon goddesses that I shouldn't break any part of my body though I knew it wasn't possible. At the count of three, I jumped and whipped my hair around as I felt weightless at my descent. I groaned as I landed on the grass, it wasn't so bad at least I didn't get caught. After Rendall’s last visit I discovered a hidden path of the garden that could lead me out of the compound with being spotted.

The abandoned wife and her secret son

The abandoned wife and her secret son

Every ounce of strength. She let go. Suddenly. My weight was already shifting backward from pulling so hard. My foot reached behind me, searching for solid ground. There was nothing. I’d forgotten where I was standing. Right at the edge of the stairs. My arms shot out, grasping desperately for the railing. My fingers brushed it but couldn’t hold on. I fell. My back slammed into the stairs. The air left my lungs. Then gravity took over. I was tumbling, my body hitting step after step. Each impact sent pain shooting through me.

Before He Wakes

Before He Wakes

A light snow sprinkles down from above like powdered sugar, dusting the earth. Up ahead, the trail dead-ends at a snarled deadfall of snapped branches, most of them as big around as a man and twice the length. The deadfall rises at least twenty feet into the air and he stands before it, wondering if he should attempt to climb over. If the whole thing collapses while he is at the top, he could get seriously injured.

Fake Vow, True Luna

Fake Vow, True Luna

When I turned back to look at Montgomery, his sneer had turned into a devilish grin. “Then I suppose you’re not as smart as you seem, Luna.” … It was a beautiful day, which was ironic. The cool spring breeze ruffled my hair and the leaves overhead, the surrounding forest coming to live with the colorful wildflowers of the season. But laying before me was the confinement pit; a large, ten-by-ten foot hole in the ground. It was roughly a fifteen-foot drop to the dirt floor of the pit, just enough to hurt on the way down but likely not enough to break any bones.

The Omega's Surge

The Omega's Surge

The trees that I was under were now all beneath me, as the canyon rose up to the sky in a strange growth. I looked down and saw a sheer drop that would break even a planet in half if it fell from here. I was sweating, and my spear fell from my grasp as everything was going down, and I struggled to not be a part of it. I heaved myself up, and placed my leg on a clump of grass, then shot a hand to grab another, scaling two inches in all my effort. The pain from falling over the waterfall was still there, and now falling from here would be an even greater pain. By the time the pain came, I would be too dead to feel.

My Darling Superstar

My Darling Superstar

No acknowledgment. But that was fine. Because silence was still a response. ** The sun was just beginning to dip behind the mountains when Emily stepped off the bus, the scent of pine and earth wrapping around her like a quiet promise. Whispering Pines Eco Park was breathtaking. Tall trees swaying gently in the breeze, birdsong echoing through the woods, and a sky so wide it made her feel small in the best way. Stanley was beside her, carrying both their bags with a grin that never seemed to fade. “This place is amazing,” he said, nudging her shoulder. “You’re going to love it.”

Revenge of the Hideous Lady

Revenge of the Hideous Lady

As they climbed further and further away from the ground, the world beneath them became clear. They saw that it had turned into a dark, turbulent river once the sea of red spider lilies disappeared. They couldn’t see the end of the river. Somehow, that gave them an eerie feeling to it. Pushed by the mysterious force, they continued to walk up the stairway until they were approximately a hundred meters above the ground. Xyla began to feel wobbly in her knees as she was afraid of heights. Her palms turned clammy with sweat. Stanley tightened his grip on her hand when he belatedly realized how she felt.

The storyline is too good to be true! I love all the leads and emotions are shown very clearly... but nowadays, it looks like story is still dragged out... same drama, same praises, same scandals... either this should end on a good note or may be Author should change the perspective.
Peachy Barbadillo
a lot is going on with the story and I feel like Stanley was being left behind in this story...I think y should focus more on the two main character...where is Stanley's point of view when xyla were being attack and bullied..that's all but great story though but decided to drop it...
