Lucia's eyes fluttered shut, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she fought against the mounting tide of her heat. Lucia's fingers dug into the worn wooden panelling as another wave of searing heat ripped through her. She clenched her eyes shut, fighting the primal urges running through her. The cool, damp air of the cabin did little to quell the fire that raged within her. A low, guttural growl rumbled from Aiden's chest as he stepped towards her, his piercing blue eyes filled with a mix of concern and barely restrained desire. "Lucia, you have to stay. It's not safe out there for you right now."

But Liam wasn't moving, so I'm not as well. I could feel our bodies close in the heat of the moment on this cold night. I didn't need my coat because my body had already warmed me up with Liam this close to me. I couldn't focus. I wanted to swim in those gorgeous eyes of his all night long. "I don't like that look," he whispers, snapping me back from my fantasies.

“It’s like everything’s waking up. My thighs won’t stop rubbing. My heart won’t slow down. I can still feel him in this room, like his scent stuck to the fucking walls. She lost herself in the words, letting them pull her into another world, another time, another story that wasn’t hers. She didn’t even notice when her eyelids grew heavy. Didn’t notice when the book slipped from her fingers. Didn’t notice when she drifted into unconsciousness. Heat. It was the first thing she felt. An unbearable, suffocating heat pressing against her skin, wrapping around her throat like a vise. Then the smell—thick, acrid, choking. Something was burning. Her eyes snapped open, and terror crashed into her like a tidal wave. Flames. They licked hungrily at the bookshelves, devouring the store in angry tongues of gold and crimson. Smoke curled in thick plumes, turning the air

"It's your first time. Your body is... adjusting." Heat. The word hung heavy in the air between us, sinking into my mind with a clarity that made my pulse quicken. Heat. Suddenly, everything made sense—the burning sensation, the overwhelming need, the way my body screamed for something, someone. I had read about it in the library the other day. The brown pages of the ancient book flashed through my mind. I remembered being startled by the pictures boldly engraved on its pages—of men and women lying casually in a naked embrace. Heat flooded my face as I took a step back.

Perfect. As I flipped through the chapters, the story heated up fast. The protagonist, a shy librarian much like me, was cornered in the stacks by a dominant stranger. His hands roamed her body without mercy, fingers teasing her nipples until they ached, then dipping lower to claim her wetness. I shifted on the couch, feeling that familiar tingle between my legs. God, why did these books always get me so worked up? My thighs pressed together instinctively, seeking friction.
