History At The Library Novels & Stories

"Can I trust you?" "I'll trust you with my life, then." I smiled at her. "I'll see you later. I have to go to the library to find something." We parted ways and I went inside the library. It's my first time coming in here as I have no time to spend here before. I walked through the section until I reached the non-fiction and general history sections. I checked every book that can help me find the history of this place or even my family, but the books are all modern books. It made me think of what happened in the movies where there's a secret room for the library.

SHARON’S POV I never imagined I would step foot into the royal library for anything other than sneaking in to read fantasy novels I had no business touching. The irony wasn’t lost on me as I sat at the long mahogany table now, a stack of heavy history books in front of me, none of which had dragons, witches, or star-crossed lovers on the covers. The head historian, Elder Marcellus, cleared his throat for what felt like the hundredth time. The man was ancient, his white beard reached almost to his stomach, and he had the habit of adjusting his spectacles every two sentences even when they didn’t need adjusting.

We do still eat together in the dining room in the evening, all of us, from time to time, but a lot of times I will excuse myself and not go at all. Managing to get to the library is no problem. I do know that many of the other girls read, or pretend to, so I can’t spend too much time in here. If I can find a book or two about Maddox’s ancestry, I can take them back to my room and read them there. The historical nonfiction section of the library is one of the larger areas, so it may take me a while to find what I’m looking for. I turned back to the attendant or librarian that hadn't left yet thankfully. "Sorry, it seems I am in above my head. I don't know exactly what I am looking for which is why I cannot tell you. Tell me how are the books organised?" She nodded, her expression unchanging. "By genre, author, date and relevance." I blinked looking at the library again not knowing how exactly that worked out. But according to genre… what would Magic and witches fall under apart from magic and witches? I turned back to the waiting attendant. "I want to see the History of the Southern Paw from as far back as you can find."

ZORA I bit my lip, frustrated, but nodded. “Okay, then let's start with the library. That is basically where history is hidden.” The library being massive was an understatement. During the lunch break, I made a quick trip to the library. I needed some books for the new history assignment. Every student in our class had to write on a different topic from the current chapter and my topic was Industrial expansion. I first thought I'd copy something down from the internet but then Mrs. Cooper said she needed us to use the library and provide the names of the books we used for reference.

Elena’s POV As soon as Horace left the house, I got to work. I had a few things planned already, and I wanted to do it in my alone time. Just so, if it turned out to be what I suspected, I could process it first before bringing it to him. I went straight to the library and took myself to the historical archive section. Looking through each book, ledger, and any other thing I saw, dear. That was when I found something relating to what I was looking for.
