I asked Sharon as I watched her struggle with the suitcase. "I sent them away." "Oh, so you didn't know they were the ones who had to do that stuff?" "Why should they when we've got two maids?" She really knew how to press my buttons. "Sharon, I don't want the maids doing things like this. This could cause problems for them in the future. They're women, just like you." "Ethan, you're so shallow." "Look, if you're going to live here, you might as well change that damn attitude of yours. And don't ever think you'll take advantage of those maids, they're not here to make life easier for you."

I pulled out a book and closed the suitcase before turning toward the maids who were doing their job in the bedroom “there is food in the kitchen if you are hungry. Feel free to dig in” I walked out of the room before any of them could say a word to answer what I just said, the last thing I wanted or needed was to be judged by the maids of the house. I entered the living room where two other maids were cleaning up, watching as the two of them stared at me for a second, waiting for an order from me. However, I had nothing to tell them, therefore, I just simply nodded before taking a seat, allowing them to get done with their business. It explained how the Alpha managed to have his house clean

Moldark’s residence towered like a skyscraper and every wall was filled with bookshelves that were closed to the top, just below the stained glass windows. “Don’t you guys have any maids to clean this place?” asked Vero to the maid, who was turning on the lights. The maid stared at her for a long time and the reflection from the dim lamp she turned on cast a black shadow on her corpse-like face. “No,” she replied, in the same robotic tone as before. Vero turned around and looked up. At least this place didn’t smell bad but instead had the smell of dust and scraps of old books. “What should I clean?” asked Vero.

It wasn’t a house. It was a mansion. Huge. Elegant. Just as grand as the Sinclair estate. I felt my stomach twist. I had assumed Caleb was just comfortable, maybe a little wealthy...but this? This was something else. Once again, the question burned in my mind. 'Why does a man like him want a woman like me?' He led the way into the massive living room, and as soon as we stepped inside, four maids came out to greet us. They bowed respectfully, their voices soft and polite.

She pressed the soft mattress that she was sitting on, as her smooth yellow skin felt better after sleeping on the bed and waking up. It was actually the first time that Olima had slept so long without having anyone to disturb her or to jump down from her bed and run up to the kitchen like a mad woman to arrange the whole house to look neat before her stepmother would wake up. Olima shook her head as she realized that being a maid wasn't easy. Yet despite all the maid's efforts, the maid would still be looked down upon and even given peanuts to eat, while the one who didn't even suffer or make any attempt to clean the house would relax in the comfort of the neat house and receive all the pra

not “Mrs.” Ms. Zhou, the head housekeeper, was a middle-aged woman with stern features and meticulous habits. I knew she was my mother-in-law’s spy. She would ask about my needs as a formality, but when I requested even the smallest personal favor—like a softer bedside lamp or a few books—she would reply in her cold, detached voice: “Your ladyship has given orders. The house arrangement is decided by a feng shui master and cannot be changed. As for books… you may only enter the master’s study with permission. Otherwise, you’ll need to buy them yourself.”

But right now, with all I’ve beheld I believe him when he said, this was going to make up for home. He was intent on doing just that after Cameron had mentioned to him in the letter that this was our honeymoon. My attention had soon been snatched by polished furnitures stood at an end of the room, and by the window side was a mini flower vase, bearing artificial plants. Centered in the area was a king-sized bed, stacked with pillows here and there alongside a maroon-coloured duvet which looked like it would drown anyone who went in it, and placed on the bed was card, with the words

Bukunmi the housemaid had implored her to come inside the house and have a drink but she refused. She had learned to be hospitable to visitors scolded her harshly and denied her of a month's salary. This was because she 'ill-treated' some elders who came visiting from the village. She didn't serve kola nut neither did she serve gin. The elders remarked badly after they returned. Mama heard about that and according to her principles, she had her way of getting back at every bullshit. Alicia brought out her 'Common Entrance Solution' textbooks and started to revise it to while away time.

How dare he make fun of what I cherish? "What's wrong with you Daniel? How dare you joke with me?" I asked dragging him in. It's high time,he knows I'm his mom, not his playmate or whatsoever he feels. "I wasn't playing when I said I've found your book, I saw it in the maids quarter. I think one of them took it. I wanted to go pick it up for you but one of the maids wouldn't let me into their room, she claimed the rest of them were taking a bath" my eyes widened. Why would a maid take the book I kept and who's the maid?
