I’m the reason he hates me.
Lucas gets up from his seat and comes over to me, wrapping his arms around me. He lets me cry on his shoulder for a solid thirty minutes, as everything I had kept in for the past month finally bursts through the mental dam I had built. Sobs heave out of me in a constant stream, as well as my doubts, fears and hatred of myself. I had made this horrid bed, yet I can’t stand lying amongst the thorns.
“I don’t know what to do,” I admit, the confession half-strangled, half-whispered.
