Before You Let Go
May students na bumili ng iced coffee, may office workers, may dalawang tita na nag-aaway kung alin ang mas masarap, cheese roll or Spanish bread.
I messed up twice.
Okay, three times.
I gave someone the wrong pastry, almost dropped a tray, and accidentally said “enjoy po” to a customer who only bought bottled water.
Miro laughed at me for five minutes.
“Stop,” I told him.
“You said enjoy sa tubig.”
“Water deserves appreciation.”
“Ang weird mo.”
“Coming from you, that hurts.”
By the time humupa ang rush, pagod na pagod na ako. May flour sa sleeve ko, may chocolate sa daliri ko, and my hair probably looked like it gave up on life.
