“I don’t know how often this situation happens to someone, maybe you just got lucky.” Lindy laughs humorlessly as she placed her hands over her hips, “Just got lucky? Are you being utterly serious right now? What’s the luck in having your phone swapped with some stranger?” Milo pauses while rubbing his chin with his finger, “You’re right.” “Where are you now anyways?” Lindy asks, hoping the man she is talking to is still in Canada. Milo sees Jasper entering the plane looking like he just rolled out from his bed. He chuckles at Jasper, “No sleep Jas?” he asked as he covers the phone with his huge hand.

In the end, with all the evidence stacked against them, they were both sent to prison. The next time I saw them was ten years later. At first, I didn't recognize them—it was Jonathan, now holding our child, who pointed them out. He nudged me to look down the mountain trail. Curious, I turned and saw Harold, aged and hunched over, sweeping the streets. Beside him, helping collect trash, was a white-haired woman—Jasmine. In just a few years, they had aged so much. But seeing them now, I felt nothing.

Joel POV I woke with a startle to the cell doors opening. "Shit." he grumbled. He had been doing that a lot lately. Sleeping in. And grumbling, as a matter of fact. I knew today was the day I had to return the parole paperwork to the counselor but I felt like somehow it wasn't quite ready even though I must have been through ten drafts before finalizing it. Of course, I want to get out, but now its even more so. Now, with Miranda waiting on the outside, getting paroled has placed getting paroled as a higher priority. I stepped back into the cell and grabbed my blue shirt and paperwork.

A deafening boom ripped through the underground kingdom. The golden eyes vanished beneath a storm of silver light. The chains wrapped around something enormous. Something beyond imagination. The city trembled. The jailer stood motionless. Holding. Containing. Enduring. Then came a sound I never wanted to hear. A snap. One chain broke. The noise echoed like a thunderclap. Then another chain shattered. And another. And another. The prison was failing. The jailer's light brightened desperately. More chains appeared. Thousands more.

It's impossible but it's happening. The first day I really couldn't believe it. I tried so many ways just to go back to the world where I really belong, but whoever put me here is really stupid. Even if I try to find a way, I can't go back. If I had only known that I would end up in a book, I would have never been a call center agent. I a rich too... just a villain. The poem was about a bird that finally learned to fly after being kept in a gold cage. I looked up at him, my heart skipping a beat. I didn't know what to say. I just held the book.

Harold glanced back as they fluttered away from the farm. “Something’s wrong with the crop,” Bjorn said, then took a sudden sharp nosedive. “Down.” Harold ducked, turned, and dropped. Two nest guards on patrol passed in front of the public library. These two would do much more than shake fists and grumble. Guards carried stunners and didn’t mind tapping youngsters with a minor wake-up call. For Bjorn and Harold, it would be more than a mild stun. They had a reputation as troublemakers. It was nothing excessive, but getting caught would mean another ticket for high-flying within city limits. Even Bjorn’s status as the head surface trader’s son wouldn’t sway judgment. She was not in the mood of any jokes since she was so hungry and weak at the moment. She didn’t receive any answer but what happened next freaked the hell out of her. She found herself standing in a place that looked like a mall but it wasn’t the same as the malls she was used to seeing. The air and even the whole environment felt very different. When she was busy looking at the different stores facing her, a book fell right in front of her and she picked it up. Krystal opened the book and began to read it. She spent an hour reading the book and she got to learn a lot from it.
