"What would I eat then?" "Ah! We have Eba." Mama stated with a wide smile while counting with her fingers the various types of local delicacies she could prepare. "Fufu, starch, semovita, pounded yam, Ewedu soup, Kekefia, Amala, yellow soup—" Mama was ready to go on and on but May cut in. "Ma … ma" May drawled. "Maryam isn't familiar with all those meals you're listing."

May represents a large number of women that are constantly abused in their homes but still manage to smile and live through it. I hope women in similar situations reading this book get some of the happiness that May gets.
The Dream Elixir
This book was beautifully written and I enjoyed it so very much. It made me feel so many things and I was on the edge of my seat for most of the while because I really wanted the best for May. I felt so much anger towards Edric, uncertainty towards Tega, and love for Edric. definitely insightful

on his forehead stands before them. “Are you all right, Varz?” The man asked glancing at the guy. The guy just nods. Alfi and Kartika stand up. “Who are you?” Alfi asked. “Call me Made. (/mᴧdᴂ/) I’m here to assist all of you to stop Waku-Waku.” He explained politely. "What does he mean? And what’s the big deal with this ‘Varz’ guy?" Alfi thought in amazement.

Mom announced but I paid less attention as I drank my wine. "Her name is Mackenzie." She said and I choked on my wine. "What? What did you say her name is?" I said after my cough stopped. "Well she's from the magical world and right there, they all have a name with the "M" initials so just like their Queen's and King's name starts with "M", same goes for the girl." Mom expounded and I sighed. "Mom, I asked you to repeat that name again. I didn't ask for their whole life history."

Maika’s response cut through the silence like a dagger: > “I want your help. I need to remember everything. Your brother Cane—he’s a scientist who specializes in memory loss. I want him to help me.” Carl’s eyes widened. His breath caught. > “Why are you so eager to relive your past?” he asked, barely above a whisper. Maika’s fists clenched at her sides. Tears welled in her eyes as she met his gaze, her voice cracking with emotion. > “Because I’m haunted. Every night I see myself running through a forest, chased by dogs… protecting something in my arms… someone. I feel this ache, this emptiness—and I need to know why. Please, Carl. Help me stop the nightmares.”

Maya murmured under her breath but Max heard it. " Why are you pushing yourself into depression? It will make a negative effect on your health, " Max's concern reflected in his words as Maya smiled painfully. " As if it is going to get any better, " Sarcastic answers were now Maya's best friends. Max did not know how to cheer her up. " Take these, " He handed her a key as she looked at him confused. " What are these one-off? " Maya asked. " Duplicate key of the school library, you can roam around anytime you want, no one will stop you I will get the teachers-- " Max was about to say something when Maya stood up and kept the key on his desk.

MIRANDA Jake, short for nothing because his parents' looked at him the day he was born and said to themselves 'This face looks like a Jake', made up for his boring, simple name with his looks and — above all — his knowledge. I had the pleasure of having a short conversation with him before the class could begin and I learned that he was both well-spoken and the complete opposite of my sister. Whereas she could have ruled a town named 'Grumpyville' her counterpart was all sunshine, rainbows, and freaking unicorns. He smiled more than me and every smile that graced his soft-featured face was nothing short of genuine. He was nineteen but had been teaching self-defense since the age of sixteen w

When I read books by this author they always play like a movie in my head. The details, the setting, the characters and the story line all flow so well. Such a talented writer. I am absolutely looking forward to reading "Jericho". Keep up the great work.

she stuttered. [Calm down, Mara. It's okay. You don't have to be scared, I'm here. I'll protect you. I will never let him hurt you, not even the tiniest strand of your hair. You've done great. Now, wait for us there. We're on our way. Did he already leave?]

my father ordered, and everywhere was silent. Mai'Aljannu spread an animal hide on the floor and sat on it. He brought out some bones. The bones looked like human fingers, but no one spoke. He also brought out eight cowries and four Kola nuts. He divided each kola nut into four. From every four, he took one part of the kola nut and ate it. When he finished, he spread the items on the hide and cut his palm. He did not even flinch from pain. He dropped his blood on the things and began to recite something in a strange language. Then just like that, he was still; he looked upon the item silently without moving. After a few seconds, he engaged in a conversation with the items. The language he sp

And the moment they did, Mona knew. He knew something was wrong. She quickly plastered a smile across her face. "Hey." Kane didn't smile. He walked toward her, pulled out the chair opposite hers, and sat down. "What's wrong, princess?" The sincerity in his voice almost broke her. Mona looked away. "I've been thinking." "About?" She swallowed. "Did you know vanilla comes from the actual butt of an animal?" Kane stared at her. Mona gave him a tiny smile.
