“Persephone, hold on tight.” There were arrows striking the carriage’s body. My heart had long since migrated to my throat and everything felt like a bad dream. I felt that if I closed my eyes, none of this would turn out to be real but I dared not close my eyes. I had died before but this time – this was too much. We were being chased by assassins and I had just watched the coachman die. “Per…” Koa started but his words were cut short. I could not tell what was happening outside but the sound of arrows being fired, horses being hysterical and an uncontrolled carriage filled my ears. The horses were going berserk and all but flying through the air at top speed.

"I am going to pretend you did not say that." "Pretend all you want. I have witnesses." I gestured toward the empty arcade. "All of these machines are witnesses. They saw you crash." "The machines do not have eyes." "They have screens. They saw everything." Mariano shook his head and walked toward the next game. It was a shooting game. A giant screen with plastic guns attached to the console. Zombies were crawling across the screen in the demo mode. "Zombies," he said. "I can handle zombies."

I casually tossed the grenade up and down in my hand like a ball before hurling it toward the car where Scarface was hiding. By the time Scarface managed to shove away the zombies around him, his entire body had already erupted into flames. He staggered around screaming in agony, desperately trying to find water to put himself out. But there was nothing here that could save him. I watched expressionlessly as he burned into a charred corpse before collapsing onto the ground. I wondered how many survival points the system would reward me after destroying this many zombies at once. Thinking about that, I turned and walked back toward the estate.

After all, jumping from window to window would be a lot faster than going down and up a flight of stairs. There were two games that Zen knew were good options to train his running skills. The first was a straightforward reflex runner game called Maze Runner. He had to collect speed boosts in the game to complete the maze level and avoid running into walls as he ran. The second game was a personal favourite. It was an obstacle running competition against an artificial intelligence opponent. While the game did not have many in-game elements, the controls and special animation effects were what made the game so thrilling. It was called Street Sprinter.

" Jordan thought Tristan wouldn't believe him, so he pulled out his phone to show the picture. Tristan grabbed the phone and slammed it to the ground. The screen cracked. "Tristan?" "Get out!" Jordan, bewildered, didn't understand what had triggered Tristan. He picked up the phone and ran off. The others exchanged awkward glances. "Tristan, maybe you should call Esther. It could just be someone who looks like her." Tristan held his phone but suppressed the urge to call her. The image of Esther holding hands with that man from the reunion flashed in his mind, and his heart suddenly felt empty.

The shelter’s main gate collapsed, and a tide of zombies poured inside, roaring and screeching. “Honey, this one’s on you.” I hid behind her and pointed at the incoming swarm. Ruth raised her hand without a trace of emotion. As a deep, dull hum filled the air, the dozen zombies charging in front exploded instantly into clouds of blood mist. Flesh and blood splattered across the walls. The zombies behind them hadn’t even had time to react before a horrifying force crushed them flat into pulp. This was the S-class ability—gravity manipulation. It was the ultimate wipe-out skill.

We can feel it. I set my jaw, putting an inner hand on her fur and digging my fingers into it, trusting her instincts. “Contestants,” Death calls out to all of us, gesturing out to the ocean behind him. “Your next trial awaits. Those in the bottom will join me now. Here.”

He ground himself against her mound. Holy shit! This male knows how to get me off, Samantha mused as Scarlet paced around underneath her skin. Furthermore, she gripped Zack’s ass in her hands, grinding her wet mound against their clothes. Scarlet purred again, urging Samantha to lose her inhibition and claim Zack all for her own. Since the rejection that she made upon their mating bond, Scarlet has been restless and the only way to scratch the itch that she had since then was to take every opportunity that was present to her in the form of one Zack Adamos.

I ask in a challenge. Ethan grins, then points his arm straight to his left without breaking eye contact. “Wanna bet?” he asks, eyebrow quirking in a challenge, as my eyes land on the shooting game he just pointed at. “Loser buys snacks.” I bark out a harsh laugh. “Oh, you are so on! There are many things I’m good at, but it appears killing zombies isn’t one of them. In the end, Ethan wins and I whine all the way to the snack bar.

My brows furrowed when he turned around and ran back. “G-guys!” Rendall said while panting. “Did you forget something?” Quinn said while holding a mushroom. “Y-you – h-have to see this,” he said and led the way, we followed him until we reached an area without any trees. “What the hell…” My mouth was left open with what we saw. “Oh my god.” Quinn dropped the mushroom she was holding. Rendall is still on his knees panting but his eyes are still on it.
