I ranted, clearly anger rekindling.
"It sounds like a fight I would have paid to watch, especially the Zang mother. They are lethal," Lilly observed, her voice sounding equal parts horrified and amused. "So, drinks tonight at El Centro Bar? You need to chemically suppress this military rage."
"Yes," I said, knowing I wanted to bare the humiliation and weird, unnerving attraction I had toward the cold, potent man.
I stepped into the crowded El Centro Bar. I couldn't bear another minute of loneliness in my small apartment, the contrast between reality and the Zang Estate jarring too much. I made my way to the bar and took a stool, my worn canvas bag dropping down beside me.
