Blurred Promises

Blurred Promises

LUCIEN Sitting next to Carol, I help my sister do her homework. We have to put together a project, build a cardboard house. So we are both setting up the house. Carol is capricious, she wants to paint the house in different colors and add some glitter to give it a little shine. My sister is creative. I pick up one of the cardboard pieces and my sister hands me the glitter, reminding me of Friday night. A bright and pleasurable night. That masked man touching himself while I danced for him, the sensation of his hard member rubbing against my groin... That man came to me for nothing, even when I tried to concentrate.

A Reluctant Promise

A Reluctant Promise

Each was a query about his injury, sent from concerned friends and family, their sheer volume making his head throb. He scrolled through the long list, scanning for her name but grew impatient after several failed attempts. Finally, he turned to the search bar and typed her name. Within seconds, Valerie’s contact appeared at the center of his screen. Dominic tapped on her name, debating whether to type or send a voice message. Before he could decide, his eyes caught the words in the white chat box at the bottom of the screen: [Dominic, let’s break up.] The timestamp read [March 29, 3:47 PM.]

Promises in the Grave

Promises in the Grave

It was like I had been given a second wind, and I was alive once more. It only took me a few days to finish plotting out my latest story and post the first chapter. With the story live for the world to see, I took Ruby out for a special day with our housekeeper in tow. It was not just any day. It was Ruby's birthday, the very first one we had celebrated since our lives had taken a dramatic turn, a rebirth of sorts. I had booked us a table at the famous Sunflower Cafe just around the corner where I had planned a few birthday surprises for her.

Alpha King's Substitute Omega Bride

She read the prompts from the book, keeping her tone low and soft to not disrupt our mediation process. “Imagine you are at the beach. Imagine what you can feel. What you can hear. What you can smell. Can you feel the soft and warm sand under your bare toes? Can you smell the salt from the ocean and hear the waves coming to shore? Can you feel the light breeze and the warmth of the sun? Can you hear the seagulls around the beach? Imagine that you’re safe and nobody can hurt you where you are. Nobody is in danger, and nothing can touch you. Imagine your thoughts are like clouds and you see them drifting in and out of your view of the sky. Allow these thoughts to come naturally and watch them

Empty Promises, Wasted Years

Empty Promises, Wasted Years

Nothing I said mattered. "Dad, if you want to tell me I'm in the wrong, go right ahead. However, if you want me to write off this 400,000 dollars as a gift to Uncle Liam, you don't need to say another word. I made this money by standing in front of a crusher for two long years. "I watched my fingers blister, heal, and blister all over again. It didn't just fall from the sky." Having said my piece, I braced myself for the inevitable torrent of lecture to rain down on me.

Broken Promises

Broken Promises

Pepper I sighed, "ok Kennedy Claire, it's now or never, of course, I preferred never. Time seemed to fly, I spent half my time writing, have my time digging through my notes. Frustrated I leaned my head back, it was already midnight. My Dr. Pepper had long ago turned more water than soda. Saving what I had done I checked my word count thankful to see I was almost done. Please God let me be done, I still have three more of these things to do. Typing I felt tears start to fall from my eyes. I didn't even really know why. I was tired, I was stressed. Wiping my eyes, I grabbed my phone and hit Seth's number, I didn't know why but I needed to talk, I knew I should have called Brooke instead but h

still reading but I'm surprised Ive enjoyed this story as much as I am. I usually dont like whiney female characters, and her anxiety was giving me a headache, but I enjoyed the drama. looking forward to where or how the story ends.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. With the many statements as: "I made a face/frowned/cut my eyes at" – it irked me lol. But very good nonetheless. Kennedy was strong headed but also stubborn, Seth was annoying in some scenes and never thought about anyone else until it was convenient for him.
