"It's alright, Mr. Soledad. Your assistant has already briefed us. Shall we begin now? How are you feeling after... your stomach issues?" Mr. Evo asked, his concern evident. I nearly spit out my water, completely caught off guard. I shot Mike a furious look—why couldn't he have come up with a better excuse? Mae, sitting in the other corner, struggled to hold back her laughter.
"Thank you for your concern, Mr. Evo. Thankfully, the medicine worked right away, so I was able to make it in time for our meeting," I replied, still glaring at Mike, who was pretending to focus on the documents to avoid laughing.
