No one's gonna appreciate you, Until you do. No one's gonna stand for you, Until you do... The alarm blared in my ears and I woke up to a very pleasant Monday morning. I say pleasant, because that day I was going to Aunt Adele's in the Pacifica, CA. Aunt Adele and Victor got married very young, they struggled alot during the beginning but they together managed to get out of it and bought their first home. A little lake house in the countryside of Pacifica. A couple of years after that, they moved to San Diego.

Chapter 4: Yu Meng, who was currently laying on her bed and watching TV, while also eating, chocked on her food: “Cough-cough…fudge! Is she mentally-handicapped or something? And the storyline says that she managed to build a business empire by herself, you must be kidding me, with her IQ of a three-year-olds, how did she survive till now? Surely, the protagonist-halo managed to make me speechless once again.

I didn’t get into college, so I took a job driving a city bus. Once I finished training, I started working the night shift with Uncle Tim. He had always been the kind of guy who followed every rule. But that night, he wouldn’t let me pick up a single passenger. He even made me keep the bus dark the entire route. Uncle Tim died shortly after that incident. A few days later, someone told me something that made my blood run cold. Uncle Tim had actually been dead for quite some time. So who the hell had been riding with me that night?

[3rd POV—Damon] On the southern tip of Roosevelt Island, an abandoned Renwick Smallpox Hospital was built in the mid-nineteenth century, but it wasn’t abandoned no more. It’s just right within the cityscape, sitting out in plain sight. That’s where the address Davien sent to him. Damon didn’t hesitate to drive his car at full speed into that area. Underneath whatever remains in that old hospital building is a hideout.

I beckon her over, "Sorry to interrupt, you know I love that you're so good at all this, but you should meet my new friend Mid. She's great." "Ah, Lion's daughter. I can't believe it," she mumbles, turning to Mid, who comes approaching us with unsure, slow steps. Gemma whispers, "Why does she smell human?" "She’s only half-wolf," I reply, and when Mid is close I pull away from Gemma to hug her once more because I can't stop. She's too adorable not to. I want to keep her by my side all the time like a stuffed animal, "Midnight, this is my good friend Gemma. She's my promoter’s daughter, my classmate in college and my lover from time to time."

POV: EVE Phoenix Talent Agency's offices were located on the fifteenth floor of a sleek building in Midtown. Glass walls, modern furniture, photos of their successful clients lining the hallways. Eve had built this. From nothing to something. From a dream to a thriving business. And today, walking through the doors with Marco's silent, intimidating presence behind her, she felt like a stranger in her own company. "Ms. Thorne!" Her new assistant....Jessica's replacement, hired two weeks ago when Jessica had mysteriously quit...rushed over. "Welcome back! I have your schedule for today. The mid-year audit meeting is at eleven. All department heads will be in your office."

Mary said, waving at Alexa, who got into the car and drove off. The headquarters of the weekly show wasn't very far from Alexa's base city, so in three hours she had reached Meadow City. "You are here, Miss Alexa." A tall blonde handsome guy who was waiting for her at the entrance of the building, greeted her politely. "Yes, I should thank you guys, I wouldn't have the opportunity to visit this place if it weren't for you guys.” Alexa shook his hands politely, she wasn't faltering him. Because as someone driven by revenge, going to a beautiful natural city was not on her list of things.

I replied with a roll of my eyes. Alpha Cadell held a ball in his very fancy, and extremely huge, mansion. He said it was a celebration for his arrival at the new town. I was sure it wasn't only that. "Just keep your manners. We will be in and out before you even know it." Morgana stressed, and nodded her head at some woman with a winged face mask. Did I mention that this is a masquerade? We live in Midwick, Virginia. A very small and very beautiful town, which one would feel was built right in the middle of the woods.

But just then, the world tilted. Something was wrong, terribly wrong. The protective barrier around the Phoenix Court, the one my mother had sealed with a fragment of her very soul had shattered. "That's impossible," I whispered. No demon beast, no matter how powerful, should have been able to breach it. Not unless…there was a traitor. Franz and I rushed out. The clan was in chaos. High-level demon beasts had invaded. A fledgling Phoenix, barely ten, was pinned beneath the foot of a boar-beast. She was moments from death.

He felt her coming closer to him. Will he be able to resist the call of nature now that she was getting close?
